he said he's had all kinds of mental problems since he was at least 13 and has been taking various meds throughout his life. the benzos however he only started taking in late 2019

Canada’s National Post and Newsweek both put it at 2016. Some other Google results say 2017. Perhaps not the best sources but I’ll be damned if he’s not benzo’d to the gills in those interviews early in his rise to notoriety

Suddenly no one wanted to debate him and, I forget his name, the pigeon-chested domestic abuse guy, literally ran and hid in the bathroom whenever he thought Seder might show up.

plus don't forget that the thing that the last thing jorp did before disappearing into a benzo coma was to try to debate an actual philosopher, who made it extremely clear how fuckin shallow the process of the right's greatest intellectual actually was

That debate was good. Steven crowder is the puff chest and abuse wife man.

He loves to wear this weird bifurcated Heaven and Hell suit that's like blue with a fluffy clouds lining on on side and red with flames lining on the other like he's Two Face or something because Ta-Nehisi Coates started having the Red Skull just block quote poo poo that Peterson said or wrote for his run writing Captain America. And instead of being embarrassed or introspective about why his words could easily be inserted into the mouth of a literal Nazi, it crack pinged Jorps's brain and he went "hell yeah, I'm a super villain now" and just made it part of his brand.

He was a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist but yeah, considering his PhD thesis was around the subject of alcohol addiction he should have known benzos can be dependence forming in the same way as booze

Lil Swamp Booger Baby

There's no possible way a psychologist wouldn't know about that just from adjacency alone, since substance abuse IS something they learn about, and benzos are one of the most well known and obvious dependency inducing prescribed substances. Xanax is super well known in pop culture, and so is abuse of them. No way a psychologist wouldn't know that.

Hes just lying so it doesn't seem like he willfully took them knowing he would become dependent on them, which makes him sound weak to himself and dumbfucks who think dependency and addiction is a moral problem.

Yep.

There are two common abusive substances that can kill you from withdrawal and it's booze and benzos. They work on the same receptors apparently. When you are withdrawing from alcohol, they sometimes give you Ativan (a benzo) to taper down and make it not as miserable.

If you are a psychologist with a PhD and don't know that... no, it's just not possible. He's gotta be lying.

Oh I’m sorry I thought I posted about this in this thread but it was in a convo elsewhere. His doctoral thesis was on “Potential Psychological Markers for the Predisposition to Alcoholism”. Of course benzos and booze work in the same way on the brain so his benzo problems are very ironic

also in one of his post-coma interviews, the interviewer straight up pointed out that he got his doctorate in addiction mechanics, and he was about to admit that he probably should have known better, before his daughter cut in, spewed some nonsense about how he was never addicted but merely had a rare comorbidity that no one could have predicted, and ended the interview

I'd actually feel bad for him if he weren't in a hell entirely of his own design..

obviously jorp is hosed more than the average boomer, but its something to note that boomers across the board tend to have weird magical views on addiction. At least in my experience Ive met older people with pill problems who specified they arent addicted cause they got it from a doctor. Maybe its not generational as much as a conservative thing though

I=morally strong

So whatever my problem is, it’s an understandable special circumstance that deserves careful attention, unlike those junkies who should all be killed. See also the conservative understandings of abortion and migration.
