The past two years have been absolutely complete and total dogshit for Conservatives. There have been zero upsides.

Vernii posted:This is definitely not true. There are plenty of safe red states still, and in the case of the senate, they're almost certainly getting WV as a pick up. Yup. Because of WV, if Trump wins they're basically guaranteed to take the Senate as well, as the best the Dems could do without picking up a seat would be 50-50, it would be extremely hard to see them picking up a seat in Texas or Florida in an election Trump won, and Trump's running mate would be the tie-breaker in the Senate. Which means he would be able to make pretty much whatever judicial or administrative appointments he wanted. If Biden wins, the Dems have a chance of keeping the Senate, but have to pretty much run the table in a series of very close elections (Ohio, Montana, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin), including in states Trump won in 2020 (OH, MT)--even Maryland may be a challenge now Hogan is running. Not impossible, but difficult. Sir John Falstaff fucked around with this message at 02:24 on Mar 26, 2024 |

Also not a lot of credit is given to whoever is running Biden's election and re-election teams. A reminder that Biden unseated a incumbent President 4 years after he had left being Vice President. That's a major accomplishment and not to be discounted because seriously that's a major feat. Trump doesn't have those kind of people.

Literally the only thing Trump had to do, the only goddamn thing, is even pretend like he gave a poo poo about Covid and he'd still be President. He wouldn't have had to actually do anything. Just not make it look like he didn't loving care at all after about June.

I kinda get the feeling that a good chunk of the establishment Democratic structure finally realizes that regardless of any politics, Trump and his ilk represent a clear and imminent threat to their country’s stability - and they’re taking the threat much more seriously this time around. Maybe that’s wishful thinking and they’re simply following the polling and focus groups as they are wont to do, but it smells different these days. It doesn’t feel like the libs are treating this like a rousing game of political jousting.
