I don't think anyone would say that Iowa was a better team overall than SC, so for Iowa to beat SC Clark needed to be special again. She had 41 last year in the F4 win and would have needed that same effort, if not better, to beat them again. Instead it was 30 on 10-28 shooting; combine that with no bench points and a 51:29 rebounding win for SC and it was too much for Iowa to overcome. Iowa needed Clark to be superhuman one last time. She ended up merely being very special and to beat SC it simply wasn't enough.

She might not have made a huge difference in this game given her size but she was oftentimes able to score when we were having bad days and was also able to bring the ball out and control the offense better than anyone who’s name isn’t Caitlin. Also she got a nickname from Gus Johnson.
