Please add Irreversible to the "can only watch once" list I seen it in the cinema when it came out and it was some experience, but never again

Requiem For a Dream isn't supposed to give you enjoyment. It's made specifically to make you uneasy and dreadful. Clint Mansells score also aides in this amazingly. Everyone memes on 'rear end To rear end' but seriously, look at her face in that scene (and how seemingly desperate she was to actually go through with the act) plus the after scene with her crawled up on the couch. Terrible. Drugs are bad m'kay?

I never knew what movie it was from, I just thought it was from some saucy sexy softporn movie. Well, I read the book, and I read it after the movie had come out, and I had definitely seen posters and maybe a trailer and thus pictured Viggo as Mr. Man while reading it. And I keep seeing the movie pop up on the HboCineMaxTime menus and whatnot for, like, years now... and at this point I don't know if I ever sat down and watched it. I blame the sparse style of the book.

The movie was incredibly bland and basic, I saw it like a year ago and I also barely remember it. A total waste of the novel. For a much better take on the same concept, see Light of My Life (2019)

I don’t know about any of the movies you guys are posting about or why you’re typing the things you’re typing. But I guess movies are moving pictures and then being traumatizing is… well, not “haha” funny, but funny in some sense. So it fits the thread. Watched it for the first time recently, I was like "OK I'm going to go in braced to be sad" and it was so much sadder than I could have braced for Absolutely recommend it though

“Arrival” (with the big black squid aliens) needs to be watched twice. Things that seemed a bit odd or inconsequential the first time round take on a whole new significance on a second viewing.
