Please add Irreversible to the "can only watch once" list

I seen it in the cinema when it came out and it was some experience, but never again

The implication I got was that they cut a path through the studs to install the socket, compromising the structural integrity of the wall.

Electrical cables are routed via holes drilled in studs and dwangs, you have to cut some big arse holes in them to compromise their structural performance. Wood isn't strong because it's solid, it's strong because it's bendy

Requiem For a Dream isn't supposed to give you enjoyment. It's made specifically to make you uneasy and dreadful. Clint Mansells score also aides in this amazingly. Everyone memes on 'rear end To rear end' but seriously, look at her face in that scene (and how seemingly desperate she was to actually go through with the act) plus the after scene with her crawled up on the couch. Terrible.

Way back before there was streaming, I rented Irreversible a couple of times from the library because I could never find the courage to even start it.

A goon on here rightly pointed out that there is probably some librarian somewhere who went "Huh, this guy sure likes watching Irreversible!"

Do you really think they took the time to drill holes in the studs?

the point is that the wood isn't gonna disintegrate or crumple just because a chunk is taken out and those certainly aren't structurally vital studs. if you are relying on wall studs to hold your house up you have way worse problems.

Thanks, I actually made the same change in my quote of the previous post. I guess I was more curious if there was a browser/app integration with postimages that inserted the extra URL tag, that's the format it comes in if you copy/paste from postimages, or if the op just really wanted to share their image host.

Obviously I've been fighting with code for way too long today - gotta stop caring if other people's poo poo is misbehaving, I have more than enough of my own lovely code to worry about. :eng99:

I know sometimes the links I paste from there will have dangling "/word url" or the like, next to the image in the preview post and I backspace that off before posting. I don't know anything about code, when you asked "how" I posted it, I assumed you were asking what image host I was using. I doubt "chrome" is adding urls but if it matters that's the browser I was using, lol.

when Total Eclipse came out, my partner suddenly developed a keen interest in French poets that hadn't manifested before Leonardo DiCaprio hung dong in a movie

we went to the last remaining local video store, where a high school acquaintance named Dave worked. we asked about the movie and the clerk told us it was out. checked again a week later, out. checked again a week later, and the guy looking it up said "weird... Dave's had this movie for 3 weeks."

in this manner did Dave's coworker out him to me without knowing what he had done

I honestly can't remember if I watched The Road. How can this be possible? Well, I read the book, and I read it after the movie had come out, and I had definitely seen posters and maybe a trailer and thus pictured Viggo as Mr. Man while reading it. And I keep seeing the movie pop up on the HboCineMaxTime menus and whatnot for, like, years now... and at this point I don't know if I ever sat down and watched it.

I blame the sparse style of the book.

The movie was incredibly bland and basic, I saw it like a year ago and I also barely remember it. A total waste of the novel. For a much better take on the same concept, see Light of My Life (2019)

I don’t know about any of the movies you guys are posting about or why you’re typing the things you’re typing. But I guess movies are moving pictures and then being traumatizing is… well, not “haha” funny, but funny in some sense. So it fits the thread. Like this movie here:

They're probably worried people will think it's a kids movie and let their children see an incredibly powerful anti-war movie. Totally worth the tears.
