She's a loving teenager lol Maybe the supposed adults of the Court should have been giving detention to the kid literally playing god instead of Annie

No "Stop worshipping Kat" or anything just... "Calm down! Trust in Kat, she already knows everything and knows best in all situations, just let her do her own thing." This is just... reinforcing her godhood? So the thing that Robot did that was bad was... what, to these characters exactly? Trying to encourage Kat to become a goddess instead of letting it happen naturally??? What is the story anymore please help.

Annie got yelled at for taking actions and trying to have any personal agency, so presumably the overarching moral here is "just kick back and do nothing, let events take their course passively and everything will work out fine, doing things is immoral and immature and just makes things worse"

Just lol at the creepy cult being told "Dude, chill" and them going "Oh, gently caress, sorry, our bad". I hate this comic so much right now.

Jeanne: Multiple chapters spent devising a plan, enacting a plan, and dealing with the fallout. Twin Annies: A full chapter of Zimmy nonsense. The final scene was quick but there was setup. The Tic-Tocs: A full chapter of explanation. Unsatisfying, but explained in full. Tony: A full chapter of apologist claptrap. The Court's whole deal: A few pages explaining their plan through bland exposition dump or by the main characters telling someone else. Kat's Apotheosis: Haha, Jeez. Several pages with the Arbiter and godguy, I dunno, my eyes slide off that pair. The robocult: One panel. I have to say that it is impressive that I am now looking back at the resolution of the two Annie situation positively because something happened before it was resolved. At least we have to have hit the nadir, the only way to resolve a plotline with less effort or care is to just end the comic completely. Or pull a Homestuck and have third panel Shadow time travel through the comic and fix everything with his "No, stop." power. Don't need to send Jeanne to her eternal rest if someone had just told Diego to be less creepy once.

... have we ever actually gotten any indication as to who or what the deal is with the shadow people? Shadow's been mentioned as being one, but the way Court staff talked about them made them seem like they were supposed to be a threat to the court while also being something you chase out of the court with a broom.

However, it seems like it barely matters since non-Shadow shadow people have barely rated a mention in-comic since then.

Rotten Red Rod posted:You know this part always struck me as odd - didn't Coyote make the forest people as well? Was this retconned or something? I think most of the people/creatures in the forest are refugees from world mythology that have moved there as their home lands have become more hostile/limited, but I don't have citations and am not sure how much of that is canon and how much is my own thought. It would be similar to how Coyote came to the forest, actually.

I really do think Mind Cage and Covid broke Tom...but maybe I just have to believe that? I dunno. I think the Jeanne resolution is the most satisfying one in the comic, I really did enjoy that while reading and it felt like a natural way to use things like "Kat sees the ether differently to others" and "Annie is pretty clever about dealing with strange situations". Who are these people?
