The defense needs to be able to question the potential jurors and strike them for cause (or without cause). So they will inherently need to know who they are.

I think that's a funky way to say that the DA will submit an official statement (argument?) that the gag order was violated and that consequences should be applied. Legal stuff always has weird negations and inverted passive-rear end statements. "We're having sandwiches for lunch" becomes "The assembled persons will not decline a lunch of sandwiches."

Oh good. The DA is asking for $1,000 per post and a reminder that if Trump keeps trying to intimidate witnesses he might eventually face repercussions. I know the court system is stupid and each case is tracked separate from others, but that peculiarity might be why this is so infuriating. Trump has three (four?) separate gag orders that he has violated, but since each one is tracked differently he gets the freebies on each. Like a boxer who goes for nothing but dick punches in the first round of every fight. At a certain point it feels like there should be punishment the first time in his tenth dick punching fight. There's basically no reason to do this other than as a way to raise capital at the cost reducing the value of the existing shares. Presumably the money raised should be used by the company for company goals, but obviously the expectation is that Trump will use it for the campaign (and maybe legal defense costs? It's hard to imagine how a public company would funnel the money in that way without exposing everyone to lawsuits). They company itself may legitimately need the money, but that means it's not having any luck with traditional lenders which is also not good news. Reeks of desperation IMO, otherwise they would have waited for the lockup to expire so that Donald could cash out his shares at a higher value.

I'm not a NY attorney and maybe they have some caselaw which puts a different spin on this, but this sounds to me like if the court grants that it puts the burden on the defendant rather than on the moving party (the prosecution) which makes it harder to succeed for Trump.
