normally a defeat as humiliating as the dems are heading for this year would cause a revolt within the party, but the party is so captured by people who got extremely rich from the obama recession years and want the party to remain exactly the same as that

Genuinely concerned that as Donald rapidly unhinges from these court cases, biden might actually win and we get 4 years of huffed up on their own farts dems that repeat what they've done the last 4 years which is gently caress all nothing except allow Republicans to slowly do their radicalism. What a loving nightmare election.

It rules that in the west "banned books" universally means books that we were forced to read in school that get prominent displays in public libraries once a year that cover controversial topics like "socialism is bad" lol, like these are the ideas we want to portray as dangerous in our vanity.

Now some party leaders are urging Jealous to soften his stances to improve his chances of beating Hogan, who enjoys high ratings in opinion polls. In addition to supporting Medicare for all, Jealous favors debt-free college, a 29 percent increase in teachers’ pay, shrinking the prison population and legalizing marijuana.

The Hogan campaign, with help from television advertisements aired by the Republican Governors Association, is trying to define Jealous in the public’s mind as a risky, big spender who would raise taxes.

“Everybody in the Democratic establishment is concerned that if he doesn’t moderate himself, he has no chance against Hogan,” said a Democratic strategist, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the topic was politically sensitive.

When I think of a winning strategy against a popular governor it’s to make yourself into a boringer version of that guy so everyone knows that they get the same thing either way

Real solid strategy that hasn’t ever failed

For the second part, yes, student loan debt is pretty unique in that there’s a death discharge. Most debt gets collected against whatever estate you leave (if you leave one, big loving if) but student debt evaporates when you die, because it’s fake debt

First part, also yes as long as you’re on an income based repayment plan rather than a ten year repayment plan, which most people should be, but there are edge cases

Obviously private loans are completely different and these answers don’t apply

HOWEVER! If there are co-signers on the loan (ie your parents) that discharge of debt counts as taxable income to them so they will have to pay taxes on that income.

his losing his poo poo in court is the one way to get him behind bars before the election.

public opinion isn't changing but the democrats engineered this to be the dominant story to the exclusion of everything else in the political realm & it's bound to have an effect on public opinion.

Isn't a Republican senate better for Democrats anyway?

If you're fundraising on something you never want to pass so you can keep making money off it like, say, abortion rights, it's a lot less embarrassing if it's the other party voting it down over and over instead of your own guys.

F_Shit_Fitzgerald

I guess when you have nothing to run on but a corpse and six months of genocide, and scolding isn't working as well anymore, you just set up a lot of legal drama and fall back on "But look at the other guy!".

Democrats should go the way the Whigs did in the 1840s/50s.

It’s really their only play at this point. Biden’s path to reelection depends entirely on convincing enough people to be terrified and disgusted by Trump, enough so that they’ll hate vote against him
