Well sure but I understand the advertising as it's how they make money in addition to selling all users' data. I was talking more about two facts: a) There are things I know are on the Internet and that I've previously found using Google, but can't find with Google anymore (maybe on page 234938498 of the results, dunno). 2) It's simply not possible to exclude things from results. I tried to search for a thing about Baldur's Gate and there is literally no way to make Google exclude results containing Baldur's Gate 3. (Thankfully I remembered GameFAQs exists.)

I know several people who worked at Google circa 2003-5 and a very large part of Adwords initial revenue came from selling porn keywords. These people worked with big enough customers that they could call in for phone support to brainstorm other terms they could use when their desired keywords got too expensive. There were special customer appreciation parties where these guys would get wined and dined by Google because they had paid thousands of euro to advertise on "big tits" or "hot teens". Rule 34 was very much in effect too, I learned about some wild stuff from them.
