Pelvic pain and frequent urination for two weeks and so I finally went to my doctor, who told my to take a laxative because I was probably just constipated. She did give me a referral for ultrasound tho in case it is an ovarian cyst but kinda implied there was really nothing to be done even if they find one???

Hey, we're kinda in the same boat! Except it's not exactly pain, it's a weird discomfort and awareness of my pelvic area. The in-office and lab tests for a UTI and bacterial vaginosis came back negative, but there was some blood in my urine. The PA thinks it might be a tiny kidney stone, and recommends that I see a urologist. Thank God for the civil service and its medical insurance.

Finally settled on my Wellbutrin dose, so my husband and I have been like teenagers... now my period is nowhere to be seen so I'm curious if there's an invader, did the Mirena finally decide to do it's job and banish the flood, or is the Wellbutrin shifting the window? at least husband is on board to get snipped if there's a squatter, we are both team child free I've been kinda weepy and eating everything in sight, but the boobs are decidedly not changed and the period poops haven't shown up, guess I'll piss on a stick next week???

It feels like utter bullshit that I am 1 1/2 months into being on a birth control that allows for remission bleeding every 3 months and I have having a full period. Friggin breakthrough bleeding.

I had been taking an estrogen/progestin combo pill for 8 months and I stopped yesterday mid-pack. I originally took them to help with PMDD symptoms and for the first few months everything was great, and then it began to be that for two weeks each month I was so fatigued the only things I could think about was wanting to nap, which is not great when you are the primary care provider for a small child. Not to mention that the Big Sad thoughts were coming back as well. I was having one "good" week a month and that's when I was on my off week for the pills. I was trying to Google birth control hormones loving my poo poo up (because I also had some severe depression tendencies on the hormonal IUD and problems with the pill in the past) and reputable health resources only seem to mention it in passing as a side effects along with headaches and sore breasts. The only sites/ "doctors" who seem willing to say "yeah the birth control pill is probably why you feel like depressed poo poo all the time and medical research doesn't know the long term side effects of the pill or how it really works, stop taking it" are woo woo bullshit antivax nuts. But this thread and subreddits for PMDD and birth control are full of women who have serious problems with hormonal birth control. It's a very frustrating problem that does not give me hope that my PMDD will be manageable anytime soon. It's like "hey lose weight for PMDD, that might help, but what do you mean it's impossible to lose weight on the pill, it says right here on the box that actually you will only gain a few pounds!"

My primary care doctor understood my reservations about going on the pill but lol at the gynecologist leaving me with like a student nurse or some poo poo to discuss my concerns and she was like "well just eat less when you're on the pill" (I did not end up going on the pill)

Mirena in and three polyps out. Hopefully, my period is now going to be well controlled. The hospital pads were absolute dogshit and would barely stick to anything.

I thought, because my anxiety was breaking through the sertraline, that my period would start a few weeks ago, when it was "supposed" to (it's still settling postpartum). I had some light spotting but nada. Instead this week I get two days of my Adderall not working and now it seems to be starting just in time for me to be at a work conference for the heaviest days. Thanks, uterus.

Hello all! Very well, the surgery was "beautiful" as the surgeon said. Well below average blood loss, haven't bled since, it's been like 6 hours. I'm feeling normal aside from gas pain. Glad that dumb organ is gone forever

It's going exceptionally well, I'm choosing to be discharged within the hour because I feel completely normal except for a ton of gas pain. I know a few people who said I should fight to stay longer because "they always wheel you out the door too early", but honestly I don't feel I need to. I've seen like 3 drops of blood in the last 7 hours, I'm eating fine, I'm peeing fine, everything is fine. My surgeon saw me walking around totally normally and commented how amazing it was. Just a ton of farting lmao

that is awesome, congrats! over here, my body has decided it wants a nice slow burn to start. you want your period now to get it over with? NO. No, you get a few drops every other time you go to the bathroom, and that is it! You better pad up every day just in case the uterus decides to open the floodgates but you don't know when! I should buy some white pants. That should work.

At the waiting room for my doctor now. Going to discuss options for my PMDD symptoms after I had to quit the pill. Honestly I'd just like a couple of Xanax to take when it gets real bad, I don't want to go back in hormonal birth control, I feel so much better rawdogging my cycle.

seen as the last time I was around human semen was about 20 years ago, if I am pregnant, it's the Antichrist or the second coming, and either way I expect some freaking child support! either that or I am deep down an alien with the longest gestation ever. I don't know what would be worse.

My doctor was great. She didn't try to tell me my estrogen problems were caused because I was fat (I asked her that directly and she said hormones in women are such a complicated issue and researchers are only starting to unravel it) and suggested I try to minipill instead. Apparently it'll bring down my estrogen (hopefully), which based on when I was having PMDD symptoms was the problem to begin with. It's probably genetic because my mom had this problem too and she's very thin. I mentioned to her how the official literature for hormonal birth control is so dismissive of side effects in general, esp mood problems, when so many women in my personal experience has problems with it. She agreed with me and said it was a problem and said the research drawn from now only really was interested in uterus and not the rest of the woman. "The research was done by men," she said "but I don't know on who because it certainly wasn't on women." Apparently there is a push now from female doctors to do better research on how hormones affect the whole woman.

Now that I've been off birth control for a few months I am 100% never going back. I wonder if I would have handled grad school better if I'd had non-hormonal options. My one attempt at getting a paragard ended with it being taken out 30 minutes later because the pain was too bad, but I'd be willing to give it another go. I still get moody from time to time but nowhere near the levels of SO GODDAMN CRAZY I remember feeling not that long ago.
