Related to fighter pilot chat in the I/P thread, I don't know how to accept that Fetterman went to Harvard because I get the impression he's always been a loving moron, which chips away at the commanding intellectual heights of the ivies, and also it's clearly not working as a class signifier because he has none of the finishing school polish that's supposed to give the impression of intellectual prestige.

Between this and the TikTok ban I'm convinced that Democrats care more about arming and backing Israel than beating Trump. Sure they'd rather have both (thus all the scolding to ignore the genocide and vote blue), but like if they somehow knew that the only way to win in November is to stop funding the slaughter they'd set their jaws and tell themselves it's a worthy sacrifice to make the hard decision to defend Western Civilization in the barbarous Middle East

I sincerely hope that once the genocide ends (preferably with Israel not existing and Palestinians retaking their land), there is a major reckoning for the conflation of "antisemitism" and pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel and the unquestioned support for an apartheid ethnostate. It does seem like shot nerves, because the response to the violent crackdown in Israel hurting Israel's image at home logically shouldn't be a violent crackdown at home in defence of Israel's image. There's no part that makes sense.

Fascists maintain control through fear. Once people begin to realize that they don't have to live in fear, fascism loses. The fear of being labeled an "antisemite" or the 'mighty' IDF wiping the floor with you for opposing them is fading, and Israel/its supporters are on their back feet desperately trying to claw back control. It won't work because - imo - the cat's out of the bag.
