That does not mean we stop trying or discourage protest. Doing nothing at all is far worse. There will not be a people revolution in America any time soon, but every one of these protests radicalizes more people. I'd bet some of these kids knew people who protested in 2020, or may have been there themselves.

I feel like the core lesson of the last 20+ years of protest is that making noise and getting arrested is not an effective way to instigate change. But maybe this time! Cutting off would-be PMC liberals from the avenues of career advancement and radicalizing + unifying university students more generally may create something useful though, we will see.
