And she would let us look through the newspaper and see the movie advertisements to pick what to go see. When we would pick something she would always say "Ugh, THEY said it was horrible! no way!" It didn't occur to me until many years later that "they" was just her voicing her off the cuff opinion based on the picture and title. It was easy for her to just pretend like everyone else all agreed her opinion was correct. It's the same deal with Trump. there is never "they", it's a stand in word and way for him to voice his opinions. Not a single ounce of thought more goes into it.
