maybe people should stop using these supposedly """""free""""""" (gated gardens) websites/services. like sure small restaurants and small biz dont need to make their own website and pay for it anymore(even though squarespace and competitors make it super easy) but that means Zuck owns*everyhting digital about your thing.

Yeah, you just need to convince the rest of the world. I have a standalone website. Arts grants, labels, distributors, etc don't give a gently caress about it's traffic stats. They don't even care about Spotify plays, Bandcamp Sales, whatever. Followers is the only metric that matters, because people are dumb as poo poo. in a previous band about a decade ago I spent $100 on fake twitter followers to secure $10,000 in arts funding.

Now everyone has an acceptable to great infotainment system and no one has been able to process yet that Tech Genius Elon Musk has one of the worst infotainment systems in the auto industry now, but everyone understands that they are going to have to use one constantly to control almost every function of the car so they just assume Tesla's is still good.

If anything I would argue that cars don't have enough screen and cram too much information in too little space.  This, seems, pretty empirically NOT GOOD.  This seems, like, not ideal but also not WTF have you ever driven a car before?
