 Approaching the end of Y1. Winter means having time to actually think about my farm's layout instead of just building things. I might use the dead space where those powdermelons are for fruit trees, that might be cool. Didn't realize 1.6 made it so grass didn't die in the winter! Also, I got lucky and found a red cabbage from the merchant even though I forgot to toggle Y1 completable, but the fruit bat cave is almost certainly gonna screw me over on the fodder bundle anyway. Oh well, a speedrunner I am not.

That actually was one of the things that got fixed in the patch that broke other things. 1.6.7 patch notes: -Fixes a bug preventing players from giving Pierre the Missing Stock List -Fixed some machines and desert festival logic not working for Linux/MacOS players using the compatibility branch. Edit: as I post this he released the hotfix for 1.6.8 to fix the island.

Piggy acquired! I now have one of each animal except the dinosaur. The egg is eluding me so far. Thinking of building a shed now for my machines because it's looking a bit cluttered around the house area. I found a mod that lets you build the trailer-style cabin but it's a shed inside and that pleases me.

The last day of winter a bug dropped the ancient seed. it's a winter star miracle! Now I can get the greenhouse and community center done in spring instead of fall. Thus is the first game ever I had the friendship part of the community center not finished last

I actively avoid finishing the bulletin board for as long as I can put it off and also don't put anything better than the "good" category in the soup. I don't really like being bombarded with heart scenes all at once.

Has much changed since launch with the mines/combat? I think I played again a few patches in and the combat became a little tiresome from what I remember. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for from it. Edit: Aw man! I don't think there was different farm options when I last played. Or if there was I used the basic one. I've started on a mountain-top farm and my plan is no guides, as little looking things up as possible. No searching to find what gifts to give people, no spreadsheets, no working out the most efficient things to plant and harvest. Basically a completely blind run with only my instinctual farming ways. There have been a few little tweaks and improvements, like new rings, the ability to combine rings and improve weapons, and the latest patch added some new floor layouts, but it's still the same basic gameplay that it's always been.

The dumb thing with swinging your weapon downward having a way smaller hitbox than other directions was finally fixed, that's a pretty drat big change, at least for me.
