i kinda want to test this out just to see how insanely fast you level since you already level insanely fast

I think with double xp you could probably just literally do the story missions and nothing else.

I feel like people say you can already do that but I feel like I’ve been underleveled whenever I try and end up doing the heroics on a planet too

My last alt generally hit level cap for the planet pretty fast, and the one before hit it on the flashpoints before the planets even.

:siren: If you hadn't got it before, you can get the Darth Malgus poster with the code MalgusWhen via https://account.swtor.com/en/account/. This will be available until 16 May. :siren:

Update 7.5 is called Desperate Defiance. As discussed in the dev stream:
  • Storywise, this update will be the "turning point". Part of it is that the player gets to "shape Sa'har's direction as a Padawan" and she'll be joining you as a companion this time..
  • The story takes you back to Hutta - with improved art!
  • New seasonal event: Dantooine Spring Abundance Festival. Earn a farm! Do farming! Hunt for eggs! Go dance around the maypole with others! Have pie-baking parties! Fish for fish! Egg!!
  • New game thing: "Ventures". The first one will be getting Lane's Basilisk droid B3-S1 ("Bessy") as a companion, which involves "training and bonding" with it, i.e. completing limited-time missions with the droid as DPS, healer or tank. This will actually improve Bessy's performance. Ventures will be a way for solo players to gain new premium rewards, and apparently this will be used moving forward for (among other things maybe?? little unclear to me) collecting new companions (replacing Galactic Seasons as the previous companion-rewarding mechanism).
  • PvP Season 6 will start when 7.5 launches and will run for 16 weeks instead of 12 as before (thank gently caress), but go up to level 30 instead of 25 and you need 9000 instead of 7000 points to complete them (gently caress, never mind). Also for some reason warzone adrenals and medpacks are now on the reward track??
  • New character customisations are on the way, starting with a new hairstyle and a new beard.
  • The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event returns on 9 July. There's a new helmet - with a rainbow visor! :getin:
The new event and Venture will be available for testing on the PTS soon. Also, from now through 16 May there'll be double XP, collection and CM discounts, and if you log in during this period you'll get another floating box droid pet. So that's nice.

Look at that post.

Hey so I just restarted playing this after a couple years. I seem to remember there used to be like a flow chart of what order to do things in one of the old threads?

I just finished chapter 3 with my imperial agent and now I'm a little lost about what to do next. Ilum?

There's a few lists/flowcharts around that explain the full order of all story content; they're not all up to date, but if you only just completed Chapter 3 (again) that doesn't really matter. Ilum is indeed your next stop in the chronology.

If at any point you get stuck or confused, you can always trust Swtorista to have a current list. Alternatively, you may find this one a little nicer to navigate. At the moment Update 7.4's content is missing from that one, though.

Anyhooooooo just FYI to anyone who's into that sort of thing, Update 7.5 (sans the new story content) is now running on the PTS. Doesn't seem like they've set an end date for it yet, but I imagine it'll be like one or two weeks.

My friends and I started playing this game a couple months ago and I've been having a great time with it. We've been going through the base game on the Republic side as a group but I have more brainworms than the rest and have a separate Imp character that I'm much further on. I just started KOTFE last night and I don't know what we're going to do when we get that far as a group since it really doesn't seem like you can do that content together. I guess Shadow of Revan had a lot more personal phases as opposed to group phases when I think about it. Is the rest of the game like KOTFE or does it let you do group conversations and such again later? What do people do when they want to do group content after base game? Just Flashpoints and Operations?

All story content only allows the character that owns the phase to speak, the others can observe but can't make dialogue choices, only in group activity like flashpoints and operations.

You can invite people into your phase for KOTXX but the story only progresses for the lead character.

6.0 is Onslaught which goes back to traditional Empire vs Republic with significantly less cut scenes and phases.

Welcome to the game!

One thing to note about KotFE/KotET: like Flashpoints and Operations, and uniquely for pure story content intended to be played solo, you can choose to play them on higher difficulties (Veteran and Master). Grouping can pay off for that, especially if you want to tackle them in Master mode.

Anyway, FPs, Ops, and Uprisings (sort of FP-lites) indeed represent the typical group content for when you're done with story content or just looking for a change of pace. Alternatively, you can give PvP a try - the barrier to entry is fairly low, and PvP Seasons add a little incentive even for largely casual players. PvP also comes in the form of Galactic Starfighter, which can be fun, but it's completely different from the game proper. There's also the more 'incidental' kind of grouping, for instance when people are looking to kill world bosses (which happens pretty often, especially when taking down particular WBs is one of the weekly Galactic Seasons objectives). And of course you can team up for heroics; they're a decent way of getting Conquest points now, and although almost all Heroic 2+ missions can be solo'd pretty easily, there's still 4-player Heroics that really require - or at least very much benefit from - having a full group.

Now, on a different note: :siren: Update 7.5 will be released on Wednesday, May 29th! :siren:

Patch notes will be up the day before, but presumably all the major beans were spilled already in the dev stream at the start of this month. If you missed it, here's the official recap, and here's an even more extensive write-up. Swtorista also already has in-depth articles on the brand new Dantooine Spring Abundance Festival Event and the very first (note: this is somewhat spoilery) Venture that serves to conclude the little story arc separate from the main plot that started back in Update 7.2, regarding the rescue baby Basilisk droid.

Got it, that's a bit unfortunate, we'll have to figure out how we'll handle that as a group, either we don't play together or some number of us will have to replay it.

We've been having a ton of fun doing zone quests and planet quests together and peeping at each others story quests.Being able to, for example, watch the majority of my Jedi Knight friend's cutscenes, being able to interact in group cutscenes and having the whole group contribute to "kill X imperials" quests and such made it feel more engaging and connected to me. I've played a lot of FFXIV where you spend a lot of time on your own except for dungeons and trials and stuff so this was a nice change of pace.
