I just learned last night if you get cleave on a side that insta kills (e.g that arrow one that kills an enemy with n or less health), it will kill the neighbors as well even if they don't meet the requirement. Well I just had an unfortunate interaction that I wasn't expecting. I had the curse that says you can only lock 2 dice and another curse that only allows you to roll 3 dice. It worked fine, until I got Twin in a levelup. Since I had six dice, now when I lock the max of 2 dice, that leaves 4 dice to roll, which isn't allowed. Luckily I could choose "done rolling" so it wasn't a softlock, but until someone died each fight, I just had to accept the result of the first roll for everyone. I feel like this probably wasn't an intended interaction.

I found out today that Dumbbell does not interact with pips added by defy (and possibly era? I don't remember if that interaction happened in that one fight). What's the cutoff? Dumbbell and other items affect the base pips on your die before modification (or, if in the second item slot, after modification by the first item). Dumbbell therefore would not give its bonus to a three-pip side in the Hand fight, but e.g. Sparks (adds cantrip to all one-pip sides) still would apply its bonus during that fight. Keywords that change the value of a side during the fight like defy, era, bloodlust do not affect items that trigger based on number of pips.

It's planned for to avoid a full softlock but is still bad design IMO. Personally i hate heavy dice/slippery dice enough that I count them as just saying "you lose" in a cursed run and immediately restart.

My Dream Hard run was going great until it put me up against a final boss battle featuring five (5) Basalts. To heck with that! (I did manage to kill all but one of them, though. It really took a turn for the worse when the summoned Slates made it into the room.)

well, hit 400+ in hyperblursed. I think the minimal blessings to get get this far are basically -2 layers of bones explosion -quartz spirit - any enemy hp down crucially, this means that any enemy with a base hp of 5 or lower will now create more bone shards than it takes to kill them More bones explosions, and lowering hp further is definitely helpful (as is essence thief), but this seems like the main on-meta build. I've tried plain blursed as well, and due to value changes it seems you can't get extra items slots anymore which means cursed items will now start choking your party a lot more, and since there are a lot more cursed items in the game you can end up running out of usable slots. Apparently you can even get softlocked Maybe a cursed item to help clean up cursed items would help that?  Yesterday I had my first normal 0-death run, so I decided to try out hard today. I chose 1st turn/2 shield, which wasn't too bad. I actually skipped my last two level ups because I had such incredible synergy between my blinged out Whirl (that was dealing ~6 aoe damage with ~6 managain per turn) and the rest of the team, and I had 0 deaths when I reached the Hand. And then the first two turns, he rolled the "kill top hero" side and Pilgrim whiffed on his undying side, which meant my damage and my managain were gone, and he had just summoned three sabers. I somehow managed to take out the last 6 or so hp of the hand and three sabers with a Pilgrim, Prophet, and Chronos by juggling the "reuse dice" sides with stuns, heals, and the managain I had left. It helped that two of the sabers eventually suicided themselves. Feels so good when you think "welp, that's game" but somehow manage to pull it out.

My new favorite blessing is Basalt Spirit, the one that doubles the first one point of damage, then two, then three. Being able to deal six damage in two actions is great early and never falls off too much.

It's not my favourite but I'm currently bashing my head into unfair generate for the cheevo I think the most annoying bit is that the viable runs are so far between in the mode, so you have to play 4 levels just to reset it. Edit- it has made me take some team combos I'd never choose myself which is kinda nice

I always have a blast playing Blurtra when I get to start with the 10-cost +5 item level blessing. You get to start doing wacky stuff really quickly and it gives runs a lot of variety. I'd love a setting that let you bump up item level by a few points in exchange for making encounters more difficult, especially if it could be combined with other modes. Maybe there's a way to do that with textmod; I should look into that.

Honestly, as cool as all the special modes are I've spent the most time with this playing Classic Unfair. It just feels very balanced and a super fun challenge, like I'm always teetering on the edge of defeat.

I've been having a good time with Cursed-Ultra! The feeling when you finally loop and get a buffet of options is great. Haven't gotten further than 40 fights though and I always chicken out and go for the blessings that feel like they'll prolong my run than something like Item Quality +5.
