Finally catching up with the April 25 episode of ROH, and... Red Velvet and Queen Amanata are taking on Athena and Billie Starkz?!??. Thursday cannot come soon enough. I think this is the most exited I've been for a match in months!

I only followed AEW before getting into ROH a month or so ago, and it was so jarring to come from seeing Queen Amanata wrestle a couple AEW matches at the beginning of the year and thinking, "Wow, she's probably gonna be pretty good in a few years." Then tune in ROH where they actually turn her loose and oh my God. She's incredible. The ROH women's division is really good, and it's really hosed that this is the only promotion in the Khanverse where women actually get to show it off.

I said this while watching the episode, to my friend, both of us being big fans of FTR: That promo gave me the vibes of the Fight Like an Eight Year Old Girl promo, which is still one of my top 5 AEW promos.

I am enjoying Jacoby Watts too, I've always had a soft spot for Dean Alexander, and I find it kind of hilarious that Caprice seems to be genuinely bothered by the gimmick.

I'm really at a loss with RoH at the moment - the whole promotion has never felt less necessary than it does right now. When I considered catching up with last night's episode, I realized I absolutely could not work up the motivation to watch yet another hour of sub-Dark action. Everything seems like it's been in a holding pattern since Supercard, to the point where I cannot think of a single ongoing major storyline. Best I can come up with is the revitalization of the Varsity Athletes, and forgive me if I'm not exactly enthralled by this newest iteration of Nese et al. Athena's banged up and thus limited, but why not play up her injuries and tease that Starkz will finally turn on her? Speaking of, Starkz isn't doing anything with her TV title and Fletcher isn't doing anything with his, while Mark Briscoe has only wrestled on Honor Club once since becoming World Champion in a six-minute match against Griff Garrison. It's not like we're getting bangers every week to make up for the lack of stuff happening, either, there hasn't been a single match since Supercard that I'd go out of my way to share with others. The lack of thought put into the show is frankly troubling, to the point where it feels like some looming change caused a shift in attitude towards Honor Club as a whole. I haven't paid for RoH in months and at this point I frankly can't even be bothered to  it anymore. I don't know what the solution is but I'm 100% positive that the promotion's current state is completely untenable.

Athena got "injured" in the match on last night's episode, Mark Briscoe is on paternity leave, Billie is feuding with Red Velvet, and Fletcher vs. Castle just got announced for next week.

She was banged up but still wrestling. I probably shouldn't have used scare quotes but the injury is short term and she'll be back in a couple weeks. It lined up with Jay's title win against Owens years back. And Eddie would've had to vacate the title if Mark hadn't beaten him at SCOH.
