Turns out he could, and gave them away as Christmas gifts.

We're cleaning out my Mom's house, and my sister found one! Could even be the one in the photo.

That explains the lyric, "a partridge in a pear jar"

I've had Welsh-Indian fusion and it was absolutely baller - mostly traditional street food but the masala potato cakes in particular were stunning. The menu threatened Nutella Paratha too but that was a step too far for me.

Bwyta Bwyd Bombai in Cardiff if you're ever passing through. Highly recommended.

What are the dark bits in the "guacamole" photo? Nothing in that ingredient list would seem to account for them.

That's commercial Asian Arowana farming. They keep too much brood stock in the ponds, so if the babies end up getting big enough to venture out they'll just get eaten. It's hosed up but it also results in much higher survival rates, which decreases pressure on wild stock, which is sadly massively declining.

It's really dumb that captive bred, microchipped, and CITES registered specimens are sill illegal in the US. The supply is there, they could easily be bred here, and most fish keepers are gonna want a nice line bred example vs. paying a massive premium and rolling the dice on increasingly rare illegal endangered wild stock.

This book is a bit outdated and she fails to acknowledge the Australian and African Aros, but it's a pretty good read about the whole Arowana scene:

There is a pizza joint in my town that does some interesting ones. One I like is the Jerusalem Shawarma pizza.

They have a lot of combos, it is easier for people to just browse their offerings than trying to explain them all.

Do y'all not remember the Bush-era push for CNG vehicles? My bus ran on CNG, which was a bitch because there was only one public station left a few years ago. It wasn't expensive, though, and the thing ran forever on like 600lbs.

Sick bus. I had a CNG sedan and yeah it was half the cost of gas, but it was "lol good luck" if a CNG-specific part broke, it could be more than the cost of the vehicle just because they were one-off high-pressure precision thingies that not just anyone can fabricate. And if you had to travel, CNG stations are way way more dire than EV chargers ever were.

Calling it "renewable" is total bullshit, but at least around Boston it is plentiful enough that we have powerplants running on natgas. Better than paying Putin or Osama's ghost for guzzoline.
