Rather appropriate that it's Piccolo waving at the end there considering he was Toriyama's favorite character

Goku could not be more happy that his granddaughter's first instinct was to kick him in the face as hard as possible. A very Dragon Ball way to end.

Nah, he's waving to Pan's kindergarten teacher. Piccolo usually picks Pan up, and he's been training her. Piccolo remains Best Dad

Toryiama doesn’t write the manga? It’s some other guy. Toryiama provided plot outlines but he wasn’t involved in the day to day as far as I’m aware

I will always love that canonically, people still remember Demon King Piccolo and what he looked like, and people still remember what happened at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. Despite all that, at this point Piccolo just walks into town, picks up his god-granddaughter, and has pleasant conversations with her teacher in broad daylight. Everyone is fine with this. Dragon Ball is the only series willing to do stuff like this and not have it come off as a parody or a complete joke. It's the best. CharlestheHammer posted:Toryiama doesn’t write the manga? Toryiama provided plot outlines but he wasn’t involved in the day to day as far as I’m aware Toriyama worked closely with Toyotaro on the Super manga, and was known to adjust scripts and jokes and such. He was absolutely directly involved with the manga. Less so the Super anime series, though he directly scripted the Broly and Super Hero movies.

AFAIK Toriyama wrote Super, and Toyotarou draws it.

A lot of fans tend to think it was mostly Toyotaro, but given how infamously secretive Toriyama was, it's one of those things that never really advanced beyond the "well I don't like this development, must have been Toyotaro..." phase

A beat I liked from Solte the Traveller chap 11. Solte the witch, Firo the spellblade, and Uncle Black are fleeing across the Blightlands, a zone of magical pollution populated only by treasure-seekers, raiders, and madmen. It's a wasteland without rules or mercy. The party has just been ambushed by a mad priest, and the last survivor of a raider party they tangled with earlier. -- snipping out a cool fight scene -- Mizukami's works have this blend of silliness and grim intensity I always find fascinating. His settings are absurdist, but his characters relate to them in a very real way.

I know I'm bad at this, but Superman has kids, plural? John and who? Or does he view Connor as his kid? I know on the CW show he has twin sons, but I didn't think they did that in the comics.

He's referring to them mostly, because Jon is pretty much an adult

I did not like a lot of the time Bendis spent on Superman for a wide variety of reasons, but he did bring Conner back and considering he's one of my favorite DC characters period that was a net positive for me.

You can still not like his Superman because I think Bendis first brought him back in Young Justice.

True, but I was just talking about how he considers Ma and Pa Kent his parents and it had me thinking of their reunion and all that stuff happened in Action/Superman during the House of Kent story, which is the only Bendis Superman story I really enjoyed. And again I didn't necessarily hate the Bendis run. I did not like aging Jon up at all but I've made peace with it. But I didn't hate the run. I just thought coming of the Tomasi/Gleason run it was a significant downgrade and I didn't really like it as a whole. But it's not like I wish it didn't exist. It's just a run that didn't really do it for me. I definitely did the one thing I try really hard not to do, which is pre-judge the story. I was immediately looking to hate it when I heard they were revealing his identity as I hated the thought of that. But in the end that didn't up bothering me so much.
