I had a locksmith try to pick the lock of my front door once and he couldn’t do it and we ended up blowing up my door with a balloon thing and releasing the latch that way. (It was just the door handle that got locked so there was no deadbolt.) Needless to say I leave my house with balloons every morning now.

my last landlady owned a lock and security company (best landlord i ever had because she and her husband had real jobs, they had bought the building they lived in, renovated it with 50 gal water heaters and stuff but kept all the nice old crown molding and stuff, then bought a house and moved there, so landlording wasn't their "job") which meant all the locks were the not-loving-around medeco locks with weird angled teeth, they automatically locked, and you couldn't turn that off. definitely locked myself out just going for a smoke a few times
