Nobody is going to pay anywhere near what they want for it because for one it's not OEM and clearly a DIY, and second it's a RHD Corolla with a manual. They were betting on someone wanting this thing and lost lol

They always lose, besides the one time someone who is no longer allowed to post here sold a gimmick bucket lift kei truck and then struck out over and over again afterwards.

While we're talking about JDM imports look at this rad little thing: 1994 Suzuki Alto RS-X. I have no idea if $5,900 dollars is a fair price but it looks very fun and cool and about as practical as a car that size can be. I might be interested but I bet parts are really hard to come by (that plus the Edit: it reminds me of the car the mom in Ponyo drove but of course there's a wiki article on the car and it's not that car (she drove a Mitsubishi Minica Toppo apparently) ADINSX fucked around with this message at 01:53 on May 7, 2024 |

TehRedWheelbarrow posted:I would like to know more Someone who used to post here (since barred on account of their behavior) imported a kei truck (I think?) with a lifting bucket attachment. Neat, but this poster famously did nothing by the books and was generally a bad example of how to 'car'. They listed it for sale on Cars and Bids and made a tidy sum. Thereafter they attempted to do it over again and striking out with weirdo construction trucks like that until they stopped posting here. Personally I would just import a Hilux or Land Cruiser and sell those for the margin they made on a kei truck but alas, I am not them. As for Three Rivers Michigan importer people: Sort of. Prados and Land Cruisers are hot money and probably will sell for those sorts of amounts, maybe a bit high especially since the ones they have are not stock. The first gen Prados are 70 series Cruisers with coil sprung suspensions, lower displacement turbo diesel 4cyl engines, and lots more comfort touches in regards to the interiors. They are my absolute favorite vehicle Toyota has ever made, but I prefer the two door short wheelbase ones, like the one my best boy Sperogi here rides in, though ours is a manual transmission because of course: They also might have a nice client base that recommends them out like we had. They are probably selling nationally like us as well, meaning the things they sell are things people are looking for specifically. When you sell nationwide it becomes easier to sell at those prices for interesting, neat, things. It also probably helps that cars are expensive as poo poo generally making these prices not too outlandish in comparison, depending on who you are and how much money you have. Our whole business plan for our dealership was literally that. We tried to stay stock and manual transmission though. ADINSX posted:While we're talking about JDM imports look at this rad little thing: We had one of those, but ours was AWD because of course . There is a ton of them, parts are "easy" to find in the sense that you just...order those parts from Japan and wait a bit to get them. They are righteously fun, like a hot hatch sportbike. Tinny, tiny, and you are dead about 6 times over if you get hit. Just like on a bike! That one has been repainted, not *too* uncommon but a little suspect. The bigger thing, and this says more about the dealership/importer, is that they don't show you the driver's side seat probably on account of it being crushed at the bolster (common) and a bit of cigarette burns since I can see one on the base, also common. *edit I no longer have anything to do with Limerence but they still use my pictures and text I typed for the cars we did sell before they took ownership. You think that price is crazy, this thing has been for sale for like 5 years from the same dealership in Perth (Aus) and it's dropped in price by about 15k in that time https://carsforsale.com.au/for-sale/honda/s660/2016/wa/dianella/3WNaKfBsE5AONJ3EL13VfQ This was an insanely bad buy by this dealer. They have other non liberty walk s660s going for closer to 20k, for comparison.

While I detest the the word "restomod", it's also entirely not even applicable to this car - it's a *new* heritage bodyshell, there's nothing old about the Mk1 Escorts them and a bunch of other companies are doing. Wonder how much longer till new shells for EVOWRX are available because like the Escorts, no suitable modern cars are availible for events?

I can't recall which nor can I really be arsed to bother her about it because apparently it was a loving nightmare of moneyed bellends demanding everything be as lux as possible despite the original car being as far from that as it could be. The one bit I do remember is it either had a Quaife diff or gearbox specced but instead of just getting Quaife to spec the entire drive line for ease the execs complicated everything by having a jumble of bits from half a dozen companies. So I guess the answer to which one depends on what this has underneath. *edit: something actually interesting https://twitter.com/midnightdorifto/status/1788418543190454473?t=czGAEJml9DtEzarkI1rZSA&s=19

In about 1984 or so my family stayed at a highrise Day's Inn (who knew they had Days Inns that were taller than 2 stories?) that was somehow in a premium location on Lakeshore Drive in Chicago and the morning after we checked in, unbeknownst to us the Chicago Air & Water Show started, and was going on over the lake right outside our window. We opened the curtains to a B-2 stealth bomber flying by at what looked like a walking pace, and that was a heckuva sweet surprise for a 10 year old me (and also my dad, who must have been about 40 then - he was an electrical engineer who worked on parts for the navigation systems of the original set of Space Shuttles.) I don't even remember what other planes we saw (or hell, what the end goal of that vacation even was) because the B-2 took over the entire trip for me. Somewhere I've got a very blurry picture of it taken on a the 2nd worst camera of all time. Unsurprisingly the Days Inn is now a luxury boutique Marriott property. https://statispro1978replay.wordpress.com/2013/08/17/chicago-1993-enjoy-it-while-you-can-part-4/chicago-1993-days-inn/ Is there an air show thread anywhere?

The lack of grey Tupperware on that later model does help as well. https://www.motortrend.com/news/thread-of-the-day-what-if-the-pontiac-aztek-concept-had-gone-to-production-unchanged-192105/ wesleywillis posted:People are now liking Pontiac rear end-teks.
