I'm really surprised to learn she was only 19 on All That. I only watched the first season, maybe, before I kind of aged out of Nickelodeon? I remember her, but I remember thinking she was a "grown up." Weird how 19 is almost synonymous with like 30 to me at whatever age I was.

Of course she got that role. Fat people were only ever joke characters in 80's sitcoms, and go watch any of the shows he produced (or don't, they bad), it's straight up Full House/Perfect Strangers/Family Matters scenarios and jokes. Goofy but harmless main adult character, serious main adult character, kids with unrealistic levels of freedom and free time at school, a really goofy frenemy character, he didn't really do all that much. Nickelodeon then basically paid him with child sex slaves. It's incredible he still walks free.

Lori Beth was always my favorite of the Nick teen squad along with Kenan and Kel. I had assumed that this poo poo mostly went down after I stopped watching Nickelodeon, guess not.

I'm mostly familiar with stuff like Pete & Pete and Clarissa Explains it all. Who knows what was happening with those kids. I've not heard anything, but its hard to believe it all just kicked off with one guy and everything was squeaky clean beforehand. My only exposure to the "Character 1 & Character 2" formula has been through Quintin Reviews, and I can't watch more than a few minutes without turning them off.

Pretty sure I graduated high school around the time Ren and Simply debuted, so my memories of Nick are the early stuff like Pinwheel, Today's Special, You Can't do that on TV, Turkey Television and some Dr Who like show called Tomorrow People. The only live action show I made sure to watch was Salute Your Shorts. The rest of the stuff was way too young for me. Nick at Nite was good because it had shows I never saw. Not all of them were good but they also had SNL re-runs which no one else was showing back then.

If you use archive.pl to read the full article even grosser stuff happened than showing her porn, and even though she was 19 it was still an enormous abuse of power dynamics by a man ten years her senior to someone who had to self-victimize to cope with the unwanted contact and attention. gently caress Dan Schneider, if half the things said about him are true it's ten times too much foranyone to walk consequence-free.
