I loved the Windows error sound when Tina asked to room with the other girl. I had to rewind twice to make sure I didn't imagine it.

That was one of the stronger recent episodes for sure. Nice to have a B plot that wasn't completely filler

None of the episodes this season have been bad by any means but man are they becoming forgettable. It's great that the show has managed to stay true to form, and season 7 feels exactly like season 2 where most shows would be jumping the shark at this point, but after 7 seasons I wish it would have grown and evolved at least a little. I think I said the same thing last season, but the show has definitely moved from "great" to "entertaining filler" for me.

There were two massive KOTH homages - "Pro-Pain Therapy Clinic" followed by the Buggabago itself. It made me extremely happy for the entire (very good) first episode

It looks like they're having another Bob's Burgers Live event on June 17th out in LA. https://www.bobsburgerslive.com/ I went to last years and it was pretty entertaining. I definitely recommend it for all the LA Goons out there.

But man, when I saw the Pro Pain Accessories store, I about poo poo my pants. Then when Dale's bug van pulled up, I had to rewind it to watch it 5 more times. Brilliant.

I made something! Since I really wanted a freakin Kuchi Kopi night light and for some reason they don't exist I had to make my own. I think I got the colors pretty close, and yeah I know I suck at painting But how does it look when I light it up? oh that, that's not good as you can see it needs a little work. //please ignore the horribly nerdy and dorky books and don't judge me to harshly

Netflix is really cheaping the gently caress out; they're apparently unwilling to pay for a lot of Fox's content. X-Files, House, Buffy, and Angel also all got removed (as well as one specific season of American Dad). There's talk of them even losing Arrested Development's first couple seasons. Hell, Scrubs is getting removed next month as well, so it's not just Fox productions. Party Plane Jones fucked around with this message at 10:43 on Apr 6, 2017 |

In the early days of Netflix streaming they had a deal with the Starz network to provide additional content as well, although that fell apart for other reasons.

A few years ago, a network's back catalog was mostly just collecting dust outside of syndication. So, they got a few bucks licensing it to netflix and they didn't see as any harm was done. Now, the networks are panicking about streaming and their reactions are varied. Some (CBS) are centering around their own services. Some (Viacom) have chosen to stick their head in the sand, sing la la la la, and deny the existence of streaming. Seriously though, Viacom's recent move to pull stuff from netflix and Hulu is supposed to try to bring things back to the way they were. quote:Viacom CEO Bob Bakish hinted at this development during last week’s earnings call, telling analysts and investors that “SVOD is not going to be a significant part of our affiliate revenue” going forward, and that the company would be “highly selective in striking agreements with over the top distributors” in the future. On the other side of things, Netflix is striking enough exclusive distribution deals for content (Netflix, by and large, does not PRODUCE content) that they feel they don't have to negotiate hard for those back catalog shows. In many cases though, it likely wouldn't matter as the networks are going to let the deals expire regardless. At some point in time, there will be another correction when they figure out those properties are not making them money wherever they stuck them and look to get them on more popular services again. Until then, expect the retraction to continue. I wouldn't be surprised if networks start letting their deals to sell episodes in places like iTunes, Amazon, and Google the day after they air expire as well. By and large the only response to OTT from networks has been pulling back content to bolster the old ways. What they are failing to realize in this 'peak tv' world is that one could reasonably use all their TV watching hours with Netflix Originals or Amazon Originals, that there's too much 'good' TV to go around and no one person can reasonably watch it all. People choose the cheapest and easiest option, and suddenly Netflix has all the monies to buy the good pilots out from under the traditional networks, further devaluing them in the long run. bull3964 fucked around with this message at 14:14 on Apr 7, 2017 |
