I liked the first pretty well, though I wouldn't call it anywhere near an all-timer (though I get the vibe I watch a lot more movies and a lot weirder ones than you do). I also don't really agree that the politics are gross- I think it's a little tone-deaf, but that its heart is pretty much in the right place, which puts it above the vast majority of Hollywood blockbusters politically (the message I got from the movie is, if anything, "eat the rich but steal their sweet clothes first"). What I heard about Golden Circle was that it's the first, minus everything that made the first good, and horribly wastes its premise.

Bringing Colin Firth back was a mistake, and it has the feeling of a TV miniseries that was edited into a film. It's worth a watch if you really dug the first but it's pretty blah overall.

The Kingsman movies are actually totally solid movies about the poor's struggles against neoliberalism. Both villains want sympathetic, sane-person goals (let's cure climate change, let's end the war on drugs) but the way they try to accomplish it is through the genocide of the poor. Golden Circle is certainly a little scattered but mostly accomplishes the same thing as its predecessor. Galahad basically breaks Kingsman rules by arguing that high-class living shouldn't be exclusive to the rich, and then surprise, everyone in the organization except him turns out to be a rich rear end in a top hat anyways. On another note: I can't believe some of you dolts are falling for Marvel's marketing AGAIN that someone's gonna die or stakes will otherwise be raised in Infinity War. We've been sold this in Avengers 1, 2, and Civil War now, and the worst that happened was that poor Rhodey got an injury that was immediately "fixed" by Stark Tech that will be ignored forever more. You can already tell Black Widow's gonna have like one scene where she drives off on her bike and will be at the fight in Wakanda I guess. Ant Man is going to be scenery. Spider-Man will have like one scene at the start when New York gets exploded. Rhodey and Falcon will be in the background a lot. The Guardians will get like one scene where they help the heroes do a thing in space. This is gonna make Game of Thrones season six look bloated for editing.
