Ring doorbell any good? And perhaps specifically their mounted Stick Up cam. Or just any thoughts on the service.

We've already got a Canary cam for inside, but the reviews of it's outdoor counterpart are pretty hit or miss.

Went to see Logan tonight. Got there a few minutes after it was supposed to start (which means like 15 minutes before the actual movie was supposed to start because of previews) and apparently the theater stops selling tickets after the listed start time or it was sold out. Next showing was over an hour away so I just saw Get Out instead.

It was really good.

Still gonna see Logan though but fuuuuuck movie tickets are expensive.

My local theater has 6 dollar tuesdays with frequent customer card ends up being $5.50 with tax. The rest of the week tickets are $10 but mil discount and the customer card bring it down a few more bucks. Not so bad. I started going weekly.

If you have a Costco membership: https://www.costco.com/Regal-Entertainment-Group-Premiere-Movie-Tickets-10-Pack.product.100303565.html

They have bulk packages for other theatre brands too.

Get Out is great, Logan is great, it's a good time for movies.

In other news, dinner was delicious and I'm a fat loving pig who can't control himself around corned beef and cabbage.

Also my wife found some mint cookie recipe that called for pudding in it and it made the cookies amazing.

I poo poo you not, today was the first time I ever went to Costco. I didn't know they sold movie tickets though.

Spent $125 on what would cost me probably $175 at a regular grocery store.

Probation
Can't post for 20 days!
The ask a vet thread closed on a line that really fucks me up. My buddy Dicochea, he worked up to a Cpl in the Marines. Was in first vehicles on convoys, went out protecting E.O.D. people. Low level guy but we all were back then. He got blown up, multiple times. His first trip back he's obviously in the throws of depression and high anxiety. We get sent to base side military police, our original MOS. He has a wife, a kid, they all love him. Burried in his mind is the PTSD not splitting from his brain. Disco is hosed. He gets caught DUI #1. Restriction to barracks, lose a months pay. His wife does not work but she is a great mom. Very supportive and definitely not the bad guy here. Wife visits a couple of times, he says he'll stay clean. He's back to my unit (the unit that's so traumatized from the deployment we have to put on duty checking trucks because we can't hold guns. So now Disco is an E3, and he gets caught again a week later. Now E2, no barracks visitation, no pay. His wife and son are left to fend for themselves. We organize a way to always have people over at their house, making sure they had groceries, could make it to appointments (she didn't drive either, they only had one car). A month goes by, some E5 comes to us and thinks he's in charge of everyone, even me, because he's been a sergeant forever, and I have not. I politely remind him I am in zone and he has been passed multiple times. This loving guy encourages Disco to drink. Disco has been in and out of rehab and is sincerely trying to get better. He gets a DUI with this sergeant in the passenger seat. Sgt loses rank, Disco gets called into the office and I cried in front of my CO, beginning them to just put him in long term care, or just loving discharge. I also ensured the Sgt that he is the lowest ranking person in our shop. Disco is in charge of him, the boot from Parris Island is in charge of him, if a loving boot lt gets lost and ends up at our shack he is in charge of our loving idiot Sgt. so, in the office CO says "Sgt Grem, i cannot send this Marine on a vacation for drinking and driving. Then I'll have a hundred other weak brained bitches thinking they can get off easy if they get a dui by saying they got a boo boo during a deployment. What happenned next didn't really happen, but I'm drunk and I believe if I write something it'll happen. So I strangled that man and killed him.

So Disco goes back to the barracks. We go to his house to get the stuff he'll need from there. House is trashed. His son's stuff is all gone. Half the stuff in the bedroom, like the bed, all gone. The car out front, gone. She left him and drove to California, from Quantico. So now he has nothing. A month later he fakes a flu or something. Takes all the pills at the same time and dies.

At the memorial service the CO and MstGnySgt were at the back of the church shaking our hands as we went out. I wish I could say some long as speech face to face with him that totally pwned him. Instead I looked at his hand, looked down, turned and walked without shaking it, I was also crying.

The new CO we got halfway through deployment is the reason five of our guys were exploded into component parts because he decided our 2nd platooon didn't have sadbrains after the base PA put them on meds and a couple weeks of downtime after another one of our guys got killed. Platoon sergeant threw them all under the bus and said they were mutinying after they were ordered to go back out and patrol a known red route packed with deep buried IEDs. Because of that gently caress five of our buddies died. I dream about murdering him in my sleep.
