Im still sitting on 50% equity. But be hosed if I actually live in a million dollar home - its sane value is basically what I paid for it - even arguably less. And busts/slowdowns/doldrums are a thing. Yeah it may even go back to what or paid for it or less. GOOD. But sadly it will one day go nuts again because gently caress learning from history

Great, thanks. That squares with what I had thought to be true, but the newstart (maybe DHS?) people I spoke to today clearly had no idea what I was talking about. At one point, having consulting a colleague, the person on the phone ventured that maybe I shouldn't have received any money at all for that final week. They've passed it up the chain and said they'll get back to me in a couple of days (who knows what will finally happen).
