This is a pretty ridiculous standard for a backup RB. You don't look for 4+ YPC in your backup. You look for a man who can get you positive yards and not drop the ball.

In fact, please list all the RB2s currently on NFL teams who have 4+ YPC?

Here this will help:
http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/rushing/sort/yardsPerRushAttempt
there were only 27 RBs getting 4+ in the league, across 32 teams. And apparently Mike Gillislee is the best RB.

He's an older player who did fine last season and would be a fine #2 on most teams with a bellcow back.

I mean, he had Tebow on the team, if only for the preseason, and Tebow is significantly worse and had more than enough off-field drama. But Tebow was literally free and Kaep will justifiably want millions.

Belichick absolutely hated Tebow's off-field drama, only signed him because Kraft made him, and probably bitched about it constantly until he had enough data to release him :colbert:

I think it'd be great because it'd simultaneously shut up the mcmagic types and also make Trump eat his stupid words about how he'd ruin any NFL team that signed Kaep

Plus actual football reasons: if we trade Jimmy, Kaep is a better short-term backup than Brissett

The issue with Kaep as a backup is that he is only a serviceable QB if you play a system that suits him, which no team does at this point. If your Rodgers or Luck goes down, you can't just sub in Kaep and have him execute the same offense, which is very problematic for a backup QB.

Yeah I don't get why none of these stories realize the Jets have offset language. Revis will take 20 cents guaranteed next year rather than a dollar this year because every dollar he's paid this year goes to the Jets, and Revis is all about Revis's bottom line.
