Enslaved released a new track/video from the upcoming album Utgarde: Jettegryta

Kinda feels like a Ruun-era vibe with an interesting proggy passage in the middle.

Homebound is the other song they've released from the album.

Some aussie death: https://thebonesofgod.bandcamp.com/album/eos

Also for any tech-wank death metal, 90% of the things featured on Unique Leader's roster should cover that.

Yes.
I've heard some talk that the new Ensiferum is an improvement over their recent fare, here's hoping it's true.

EDIT:
Please classify the new releaes correctly, it clearly states on this BC page that this band plays Heavy Negative Wizard Metal

It's certainly different with a ton of clean vocals. Now it's Viking power metal with a dash of Alestorm

I really love what they did with Southern Man but the rest is just enjoyable yet inessential. Which I guess is all you can ask for with a covers album. Shocked at how straightforward the Petty and Prince covers are.

They wrote on instagram (I think) that the Prince cover was something they like to play when drinking beer together, and had to be cajoled into recording it at all.

It's also the drummer doing the vocals on it, and they did it in one take and didn't pitch correct it. It's clearly just meant to be something fun that they didn't take too seriously. I think the album is pretty good for just being a covers album. I like that they did mix up the styles a bit, some more true to the original and some more true to their own style.

Hey there Metal Thread, just wanted to share that Dissector and Digestor of Ghoul have been streaming Far Cry 5 on Twitch for a few weeks now, and they're running a deal where if you subscribe to either stream, you get a Ghoul Bandcamp album download of your choice, two if you sub to both. It's a fun way to spend a Saturday night, and since they don't have a ton of viewers, they're very engaged with the chat feed if you want to ask them questions or listen to stories. Stream starts at 9 PM PST, and they do it every Saturday.

Is this what classic rock fans feel like with new singers? Will I be going to the casino in 30 years to watch them slowly move around with a 20 year old singer?

Spotify introduced me to Order ov Riven Cathedrals, an Italian band that I'd describe as "Behemoth with techy drums." https://orderovrivencathedrals.bandcamp.com/album/the-discontinuitys-interlude

They don't seem to have any merch other than physical albums, which is disappointing because I wanna toss them some cash.

I am trying to find out the make of his guitar and he told me "Dunable Asteroid" but I am trying to find that cream one as it looks so loving sick.

e: Looks like custom just for him.

quote:

Some guys write riffs so nice I have to make them a guitar twice. Stephen Brodsky of Mutoid Man, Cave In, and many more is getting these two Asteroids. One is 27.5” baritone and the other is regular 25.5” scale. The bari has Lace Pickups Drop&Gain and Blue Sensor single coil, and the other has #dunable Slugwolf and custom single in the neck. Both feature maple necks, mahogany bodies, chrome hardware, and momentary kill buttons. It is a huge honor to make some instruments for this dude, who wrote and is still writing some of the coolest records ever made. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
