Yeah the more I half watch this the more I feel that VP debates aren't watched live, but in 30 second clips the next two days while they fill time before the next real debate. Pence is coming off more polished, but it won't show when most of America digests this in short news clips on their lunch break. What they will see or read is the spin their news station puts on it. And it will probably be side by side clips of Pence lying about Trump's policies. And yeah, Pence has a much tougher job than Kaine and he is doing his best with what he has to work with. I would lie too if the alternative was acknowledging some of the things Trump has said.

Yeah, worth noting that even though Biden/Ryan was an utter curbstomping that ruined Ryan's chances at the presidency, a lot of people didn't like the way Biden debated him. Him laughing off Ryan on a regular basis came across as condescending and lovely, even if it was justified. People really don't like smugness.

I dunno, Pence comes off to me as more of a slickster telling me I need to accept a longer sentence to win the case. Kaine is a LOT more earnest and while he might be harping, Pence's responses to me just make him more punchable.
