According to their Facebook post last year, it's a police station for transit police, and they decided it needed a couple holding cells and an interrogation room, like a normal police station might have, so it's perfectly normal for transit police to have their very own police station, funded by TriMet. Community radio station KBOO interviewed them about it, if you'd like to listen to that.

You know, it's a lot like how Portland State University has campus police, and those campus police need to have guns, in the event they see a black man with a gun and need to unload 20 bullets at him.

Hey a grand jury said that was okay so you can't complain about it sorry those are the rules

... what's your point? I don't give a poo poo who she is, if she says she was raped by someone we need to take that seriously and hold the person accountable for who did it.

Yeah, that was my gently caress up for sounding like it shouldn't be taken seriously. Cops have super high rates of sexual abuse targeting women of color, and I failed at pointing out that white feminism often overlooks that.

A shitty post? This calls for a dance of deduction.
How far down do rents go in the winter? I found a place in Portland for $890 per month, for a one bedroom but was wondering if I should hold for something cheaper that will popup November or December.

Not much in my experience of renting her over the last decade or so. It's not really a college town and the winters aren't particularly awful (just dreary) and I've never noticed much of a seasonal fluctuation. That's all anecdotal though.

Generally not seasonal due to high external demand from everywhere.

I found my place during the winter. I also feel like I got extraordinarily lucky. The selection was really, really small (we toured three places, total), but it seemed like much more of a renters' market. Then again, this was Seattle, and this was three years ago.

MAWP... MAWP!

quote:

The man killed by police had been involved in a shooting that left two other men wounded, according to police.

Haunsperger didn't say how many officers were involved. Police said they recovered a gun at the scene, and closed off several streets downtown.

An officer reported to dispatch that someone was down and bleeding from the hip area at Third and Stark, and medical was called to respond.

Later, a private car dropped off two gunshot victims at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. One of the victims was wounded in the chest and went into surgery, according to police.

A suspect involved in a multiple victim shooting immediately prior.

Edit: In case my position from previous postins isn't clear, it's still ACAB.

"What a good post!"

Or, when it rains after a long time without rain the water mixes with oils and dust on the road and makes a slicker surface that tires don't grip as well regardless of how bald their tires are? Weird how that works.
