Why can’t I have nice things? This probably torpedos the Leach hiring unless there was some conversation behind Curries back

I mean on the one hand you have to be impressed with a program that had such high prestige and reputation for football just torpedo itself downward in such a short amount of time that bottom tier ACC, and G5 coaches want nothing to do with it.

Yeah I think I read Currie's buyout was higher than paying him the rest of his tenure. Still seems bizarre to have a lame duck AD for multiple years. Also lol if they gently caress up the Leach hire.

This probably torpedos the Leach hiring unless there was some conversation behind Curries back Given the report earlier this week that admin was leery of Leach because of the TTU suit, I actually wonder if him even talking to Leach is what spurned this. Like "mother fucker we told you no on him once."

This is also hosed up that this guy whose job it is to hire coaches has to "get approval" from a loving booster. Good lord.

Haslam doesn’t run the loving school. He’s a booster. I know he donates a lot to the school but he shouldn’t have this much power. “Went rogue” my rear end

Joey Freshwater posted:This makes me feel like Currie may not be as dumb as we think. Yeah this whole thing has been a mess but Schiano was Haslams guy 100% and it seems like since then Currie has been meeting with coaches that are more in line with what the fan base expects. We don’t know the Brohm story in full yet but his buyout was 5mil which was supposed to be the problem but apparently Doeren’s buyout was 5 mil too but he turned us down. So Brohm’s buyout being too high doesn’t make much sense. From what I understand, Brohm's contact with UTK was little more than an exchange of voicemails......that doesn't sound like a negotiated contract to me. He doesn't have an agent in the traditional sense, so any talks would have been with him or someone really close to him.
