It's a bit like people who pre-order big expensive video games before anyone knows if they're any good and there's no real bonus or discount for doing it. It's some sort of way to signal your loyalty and faith in your team/franchise. You just KNOW your team will win and to prove how certain you are you get it tattooed. It's also a bit like people to who tattoo the names of lovers way too early in the relationship as some way to "prove" how much faith they have. So yeah, stupid people.
