Dell's latest marketing strategy is making things with the same specs as apple products and selling them for the same or more. I don't understand how they think this will work.

they all can make machines that aren't poo poo, they just can't make them cheaper than yospos' favorite vendor, apple. good stuff costs money.

lenovo sells laptops for $300. they are poo poo.

lenovo also sells laptops for $2,000. they are much less poo poo, but nobody buys them.

Lenovo has laptops in the middle so I got a nice y510p for under a thousand. I just need an SSD for it and it'll still be $700 cheaper than a 15" MBP and it has two gt755's

also don't get a laptop with dual video cards. together they can cause more heat and throttle down as a result, potentially causing games and poo poo to run slower than they would on a single 760 or 770m

I said productive, not important. a company can have a million CJs and the best running infrastructure in the world but will still produce nothing of value. they need at least one employee that is working on product, whatever that may be, to actually be a real business. I am one of those employees.

cost-reduced builds are very common. they need to get the price down, and would be doing this even if sales were great. it would be real news if they were bumping up the performance, but there's no indication of that.
