I don't think there's that much evidence that Covid is a huge problem for kids at all? I was sorta on the just durchseuch them instead of vaxing them train.

That means that by infecting ALL THE CHILDREN (this is what is basically happening in some regions at the moment - 7-Tages-Inzidenzen >2,5 % bei den Altersgruppen <15 Jahre), we are creating over time thousands cases of children hospitalized and suffering from Covid. And, not to forget: Not only the loving adults have risk groups - there are children with cancer, children with asthma, children who are immuno-compromised, ... I find it cynical to put all the children in one group and say: yeah, overall they are going to be fine, while at the same time dividing the general population in risk groups. Bizarre that one would still argue that people not dying or in "small enough numbers" or whatever is the goal to strive for, instead of making sure that there's as little infections as possible to prevent long-term issues, hospitalizations etc

I mean, it can't hurt, and strictly speaking by not getting influenza or salmonella or whatever you're also doing your part to keep hospitals empty. There have been a few famous cases of covid fomite transmission, but it's so rare that even C-Spam doesn't worry much about it.

Once again it’s painfully obvious who the (non-)childhavers itt are. Yes, children‘s hospitals aren’t overburdened with Covid cases (or MISC/PIMS cases), but they’re absolutely at the Anschlag with RSV, Grippesaison hasn’t even started yet (my kid is geimpft, thank God), and there’s all sorts of other nasty poo poo going around. If we just let Covid go hog wild on our kids like Michael Jackson at a Kita, the Belegschaft at the Kinderkliniken will be in a world of poo poo. Case in point: A few weeks ago I had to head to the Notaufnahme because my daughter was dehydrated - the cause: an utterly banal Magen-Darm-Infektion, but it nevertheless necessitated a loving Magensonde and a six-hour stay at an already at-capacity Kinderklinik. It doesn’t take much for a child to be in need of actual hospital-level interventions. So let’s just please not infect the kids with this poo poo, thanks.

As far as I can tell the decision has already been made to have everything go hog-wild in children. Perhaps it wasn't an active decision, but nobody in government has done anything to help. Inzidenz is sky-high in children and it's bleeding into older age groups for extremely obvious reasons.
