I am bumping this because early voting starts tomorrow, and we need all the help we can get. I need people making phone calls to get out the vote and donations if you can afford it. Y'all are the first people I am putting this out for but we have a donor who is matching the next $1000 we get donated.

A number post for you all. We have had 375,428 people vote in district so far as of yesterday. We are sitting at 63.7% turnout. For comparison, 2016 had 318,041 people vote. I think we have a real shot of pulling this off. I could use help making calls this weekend to get everyone we can out to vote Tuesday. We could also use funds to run some last-minute ads to keep pushing people to the polls. Anything helps! insta posted:Absolutely nobody got this and I am upset by that. I've had people make jokes with my name my whole life, I barely notice it anymore.

Shadi was there any particular reason you went for Texas Senate vs a House seat? Just curious.

Thanks for the support y'all. I'll post an update tomorrow with the early voting numbers. I expect with today's numbers we will be over 400,000 voters. Mindblowing numbers to me. Bizarro Watt posted:Shadi was there any particular reason you went for Texas Senate vs a House seat? Just curious. A few reasons. We had someone who was already running for the house (this is funny because I ended up with a primary opponent anyway). My opponent is pretty awful and hasn't had anyone challenge her for years. And really when I looked at the numbers, I think this senate district is more likely to flip than the house district I live in. https://www.texastribune.org/directory/districts/tx-house/98/

I can't believe the house district containing both The Christmas Capital Of Texas and Southlake, Bane Of Everything Good is very conservative. Boggles the mind, really. I'm gonna be doing my part in 3 days and hopefully we'll send Nelson packing, good luck and godspeed. Corinth delenda est.

Colleyville, the Tea Party Capital, is way worse for 98. I think the number here in Grapevine is going to be surprising. A lot of folks have been working on this area nonstop for the last couple of years.

I didn't understand why his opponent would ignore the press, so I dug a little deeper. To give a perspective on how much of an underdog Shadi is, the incumbent has over 70k likes on their facebook page, and Shadi has a shade over 1.3k. Shadi has 240 followers on Twitter. Jane Nelson? 11.4k followers. Even with record turn outs, he is fighting a uphill battle. However, we are definitely seeing some red strongholds beginning to flip as the population changes. Godspeed, fellow goon (I'm guessing this is not your actual SA account)! I chuckled when I saw the $4.20 donation option.

The quick numbers for early voting, 418,075 people have early voted. That is a 70.9% turnout with election day left to go. Marxalot posted:1) Holy poo poo More often when the song was newer. She's been doing this for 27 years so she had a bit of a head start. The area is changing though. HD65 flipped in 2018, they are pushing really hard on HD64 as well this election. And no this isn't my actual account.

I grew up in this district but I don't live there anymore it is cool you are running and all but this part of Texas is strongly republican. The incumbent and has won the last two races with over 80% of the vote going her way. https://ballotpedia.org/Texas_State_Senate_District_12 Everyone I know who lives there reliably votes republican.

She hasn't had a democrat opponent since 2006 and until recently straight-ticket voting was a thing. Beto got 43% here in 2018.

Having volunteered on my share of campaigns thank you for doing this. You went into the lion’s den and maybe changed a few minds. It’s a long tiring thankless slog that upends your entire life for seemingly nothing and makes people who don’t even know you say they hate you or that you eat babies or whatever, it’s not easy. Hope you learned a lot and will use it for another run sometime.
