I remember being disappointed that the first Resident Evil movie had, like, one scene in the mansion and pretty much the entire movie took place in the underground lab. Later I read a copy of the George Romero script for Resident Evil hoping for some residential monster fun that might have been, and then discovered that this draft also only had, like, one scene in the mansion and mostly took place in the underground lab.

First Milla RE movie was actually good, even if it hardly had anything to do with the games. Also there's a Netflix live-action in the works, with Lance Reddick as Wesker. More interested in that tbh.

Pros: Only an hour and forty minutes long, so it's not trying to be some weird "epic" zombie movie Neal McDonough Actually using the characters from the games Cons: The special effects absolutely look like cartoons Seems to be going for "intentionally goofy" but not leaning enough into that It feels like they watched the opening cinematic from the first Resident Evil game, wanted to capture that 90s B-movie vibe, but didn't want to completely commit to it. And I know practical effects are way more expensive, but even a kind of crappy looking practical monster would look better than some of the stuff in that trailer.

Claire and Leon are both in the Infinite Darkness series that was on Netflix this last summer. I watched it and that is literally the only thing I remember about it.
