Sort of. So they are completely out of China (cost of running things in China, even for a native company, is ridiculous. I don’t personally ever expect any company to break in there.) There’s currently two things OWE is doing: shows in Japan that CIMA is promoting (he took over that this winter from DG’s original president), and a fight bar that they are running in Siem Reap, Cambodia near Angkor Wat. There were plans to do a Romance of the Three Kingdoms meets MAKAI stage show in Chengdu, but it’s either not off the ground yet or not happening.

Countless kickbacks and fees to get government clearance. OWE was apparently on a tightrope with the government their entire year and change in Shanghai. And that's with a company that was Chinese. There's plenty of stories of western companies trying to break into China and getting completely stonewalled and then there was native Chinese version that got full clearance. Most of the Chinese indies that exist currently are so below the radar that they don't have the problems that OWE had or what a larger company would have.

At least DDT have a history of running multiple groups like Basara and Ganbare. There's crossover but they are independent promotions. So hopefully that's what they do with NOAH.

NOAH would be way easier to add to the DDT service as it doesn't have a TV deal unlike Stardom and New Japan having TV deals with 2 different stations. Now getting NOAH's old stuff on a service probably is nigh impossible due to the TV station owning those tapes

I have a question about the DDT single light tube deathmatch that's been talked about in the MOTY thread. I watch the YouTube free video, but what was the opening segment about? They were demoing a bat or something but it didn't seem related to the actual match at all. It's just a little baffling. Being a little more curious about DDT, I also searched for Pokotan matches. I came upon a match wherein Pokotan was the referee, but some guy with the DDT logo on his head intervened... and things just became very confusing (I haven't finished it because I had to get ready for work)?

If you're watching live, check out DDT English Update who does live translations of all shows/promos/happenings in DDT. It's a lot to take in at first but there's two great resources that fill the gaps in

I'd been wanting to get into DDT/TJPW, but always been pretty stingy about pulling the trigger. But with NOAH on it, even for 1-2 shows a month? DDT Universe is a must get now holy poo poo. Does the "VOD enhance content" mean uploading non-live shows? Kinda like how NOAH does it now with some of their shows/matches for YouTube?
