"Oh no 9S might have to revert to the memories he had just before he suicide bombed the boss orb  " (yes I know he turned off backups so it would have been further back but she didn't know that)If the fast travel vending machines have been around for any length of time the idea of "your memories are what make you you, ergo wherever your memories are that's you" would be pretty well entrenched, no existential crisis necessary. What I am surprised at is the lack of duplicated-memory bots running around, at least so far, but maybe the fast travel systems all have failsafes because they saw firsthand the problems with that scenario at some point in the last 10k years and said "aw hell no".

It helps reduce the risk of existential crisis when you don't see your own face staring at you across the battlefield. As long as you don't know it's you, you don't have to think about how you just got killed horribly.
