Well well, mister fancy-pants, I hope you're wearing your matching sweater today, or you'll be cut down like the ugly tree you are.
I'm pretty sure it did happen because I seem to recall that Zelda and a bunch of the community responded with something along the lines of, "Zelda is some dude that volunteered one year to play Red Riding Hood when the usual person got sick, and it was fun and he did a great job so we made a tradition out of it. You're the only one reading 'liberal values' and 'brainwashing' into this you loving weirdo."

I don't have the responses on hand but I'm sure someone in this thread does.

the guy who was playing red riding hood as well as that guys mom both posted on facebook about it, it definitely happened. at some point, somewhere, matt walsh's wife took their kids to the libary, had a fit, called her husband, and he went all apeshit on the branch library manager about trans people. it 100% happened in real life, he is that sad

There's nothing particularly female or feminine about the Little Red Riding Hood character, it's a story about a child visiting grandma.

It's not like she spends the story smooching princes, LRRH is one of the most gender neural fairy tale protagonists to begin with.

"Animals have no souls like humans so we are better" is like the weirdest thing Christians (and in my experience Catholics specifically) get smug about. Yeah you tell that hamster its place when you are in heaven and it disappears into the ether after death.

In extreme cases it then gets pushed into "well if animals have no souls then any cruelty towards them is not evil since they are basically robots or something" which is trash.

It’s a story about how little girls shouldn’t go off by themselves because they’ll victims of child molesters.

his wife took the kids to the library first, then got upset about a male actor playing a female role (note that young children have a very hazy concept of gender roles to begin with, and children under age five are completely interchangable on sex/gender terms) and called her husband to come yell at the library manager i guess

Nothing about that is inherently female, though. Predators target all children, which is more recognized today than when it was written.

True- at the time, it was targeted towards girls specifically, but it can apply to other kids as well.

Literally in the preview of the article "A symbol of segregation." I know nothing about these trees, and I can already predict that their context is going to be something along the lines of "Wealthy (white) golfers didn't want to have to look at the drat (black) poors while they played old man stick ball, so they had a bunch of trees put up to hide them from view."

You would be 100% correct

The thing is, that happened in 1994. So like, whatever. Not so long ago people didn't know better, but long enough ago it'd be seen as a quaint episode from a long time ago. Same way "homer's phobia" is an episode that is pretty much nothing but gay jokes and gay stereotypes and has homer acting as an open bigot who literally physically attacks his own son for being too sissy but it's not a bad episode. It's an episode with the moral "gay people are fine" that is way too muddled to be an okay episode now but was pretty ahead of it's time in 1998. Apu had enough positive episodes in with the awful stuff that it feels like a wash if he stayed in the 90s. He's not great, but compared to the other indian characters at the time (none) they kinda tried, sometimes.

It's the fact that he isn't a quaint 90s thing that makes it bad. A decade later and they were still making "all indians look the same" jokes.

If anyone wants to see Mike Cernovich get absolutely poo poo on, he did a Reddit AMA:

https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/7liww8/im_mike_cernovich_journalist_author_and_filmmaker/

quote:

Hi Mike,

I first wanted to thank you for your book Gorilla Mindset. It really helped me be a better man and take control of my life in a way that I badly needed. I also wanted to thank you for leading by example regarding how to fight back against people who are trying to put you down.

I was wondering if I could ask you a personal question regarding some issues in my life to get some advice from someone who has helped me so much already:

I currently am married with a baby and am living in my wife's parents' basement. Our marriage has at times been tense because I tend to be too much of an alpha for her. I feel like there's a chance she's going to leave me in the next year or so, and though I luckily have some alimony money from a previous divorce, I'm afraid that a lot of the unhinged things I've written on the internet will make it difficult to get custody of our baby. Any advice? And if you were me, how would you change my living situation, which is admittedly a bit emasculating?

Thanks again for everything!
