Visiting Bordeaux there is a reflecting pool the size of a plaza that's supposed to reflect a very pretty lit building at night. Your allowed to walk through the 3 inches of water when it's full. Of course the local kids were using electric rental scooters to tow eachother on skim boards through it.

There is a tunnel, but its off limits to hazardous materials. I'm pretty sure that's federal law for all long tunnels. Hilarious to me that they don't let hazmat through the Eisenhower and Johnson tunnels on i70 and instead make them take Loveland pass that's a super sketchy 2 lane road that weaves over a 11 thousand foot pass with zero barriers.

Maybe they could raise the solar panes really high up so the hail falls under them

Bertha the Toaster posted:Did I just hear one of them say 99% of it is gone? News reports said it was "golf ball sized" hail. There was an incident in 2017 in Denver involving hail also described as golf ball size and all but one panel survived: https://www.energy.gov/eere/articles/hail-no-national-labs-solar-panels-survive-severe-storm It is probably a matter of the Texas solar panels being older or cheaper. Modern panels can have a really high safely rating and warranties that cover hail. Modern panel construction is typically a sheet of tempered glass and an aluminum extruded frame, they are joined with that same flexy gunk used for car windshields, and that area needs to be done well to guard the edges of the glass from contacting the aluminum, that is the weakest point. edit: how did the cars in the vicinity fare? is what I'd ask if I were the insurance adjuster Zero VGS fucked around with this message at 13:11 on Mar 30, 2024 |

But my 0.1% revenues!!!! Also apparently residents complained to local news about concerns of "contaminants and leaking chemicals" from the broken panels, reinforcing my belief that texans are loving idiots.

They just put the forklift at the lowest level and keep sending guys down it till they can land the jump, then keep going till it's too high and then back it off by one increment.

It's basically just practicing over and over until you get it right. You do a stunt into the airbag until you have it consistent, then you move the airbag away and put up the platform exactly where you're gonna land.

My wife comes from a small city in northern Mexico and the hail storm hit it. We're there now and I'd guess somewhere around 10-15% of cars I saw parked at the supermarket were missing front or rear windshields. Some of the pictures they sent showed hail the size of grapefruits, and the hail broke a stone fountain they had and ripped branches off trees.
