Sign into the DCCU. Everybody will hate you and your fans will ask you only about your next maskboy movie, ignoring all your other projects that you actually care about.

Back in the '90s, Alec Baldwin would have been a good Hal... Or a great Bruce Wayne. But after I saw Army of Darkness, I always wanted Bruce Campbell to play Clark Kent.

I think Channing Tatum could make a good Hal. He's blandly attractive, buff as all get-out, and has charm and charisma when called for.

If rumours are to be believed, Fillion was a giant prick to Katic off the set for mostly unknown reasons - though one theory suggests that he considered himself the star of the show and got pissy when Katic got pay raises and better dressing rooms.

I haven't seen Suicide Squad but I don't think it's weird, BvS is better than MoS, mostly because their Superman is the worst thing about the DCCU. At least BvS has that one fight scene.

DC movies are good because a lot of people don't like them, so they're obviously deep and complex. Marvel movies are bad because a lot of people like them, so obviously they are shallow and meaningless. This is how art works.

Obviously Hal Jordan should by played by the sci-fi movie soldier that everyone whined about as being bland, Aaron-Taylor Johnson.purple death ray posted:DC movies are good because a lot of people don't like them, so they're obviously deep and complex. Marvel movies are bad because a lot of people like them, so obviously they are shallow and meaningless. Marvel movies are actually much more complex. The multilayered corporate/military-industrial complex dystopia that they're set in, for example, is much more complicated than that of the DCCU. It's not a better setting, since it's so sterile and obscured - the reaction of people towards planet Earth being invaded by alien monsters is boiled down to Stan Lee laughing off the idea of superheroes in New York.

"The Diamond Mountain is in Lower Pomerania, and it takes an hour to climb it, an hour to go around it, and an hour to go down into it. Every hundred years a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on it, and when the entire mountain is chiseled away, the first second of BotL's DC movie rant will have passed."

Phylodox posted:Presuming it gets off the ground. Which is a pretty big presumption, really. Haha, true. The "showrunner" for the entire project - Universal's Kevin Feige, if you like - is Roberto Orci, after all. I'm actually disappointed that it's not going for a period setting like the Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser. I think that would have set it apart. But mostly, I think it would be great fun to see this retro pulp universe on the big screen. Does anyone own the film rights for LoEG at the moment? I've heard it's being remade as well (with more of a focus on Mina as the main character, AIUI).
