Just played some Farm Simulator 2017 (:tenbux: on Steam) with some friends. Harvested some crops, sowed some seeds, cut down some timber, all in all a good time.

To take over what naker bear said its that, plus i added a couple of things to add more drama to the situation. As of now:

1) Sam and Embaixada broke up as Sam wanted to marry her.
2) Viper (Embaixada's ex-husband) wooed Sam and they are now gently caress buddies.
3) Hakuja the female peglegged hunter and Komodo are still married, the new comers are always giggling about her pegging Komodo but they are savages and dont understand that humor.

Finally ramped up my character enough to do a Glowing Sea run. Run in with a hazmat suit, immediately eat 15 rads/sec. Ow. Kit out a full set of T-51 with lead, total around 1500 rad resist. Eat 6 rads/sec. Ow. New strategy: rank up Medic to make RadAway actually do something, and use the 20 or so I've stocked up. If that doesn't work I have to go dig up the parts for the X-01 suit, because that gives me another few hundred rad resist. Otherwise I'm going to be making a mad dash to the different points of interest in the sea.

It's really good, I was able to do *some* of the glowing sea tonight at least. I made a mad dash in my leaded + fully kitted out T-51 suit and made it to the O'Neil Family Factory to get the X-01 Right Leg that was stashed there, along with doing the Sentinel Site and getting the Fusion Gun for some obscenely expensive endgame crafting options. I was basically going 'nope nope nope' like that Dark Souls gif with the guy with the torch because the poo poo in the Glowing Sea is terrifying. I burned through like 450+ .50cal rounds for my main gun (A SCAR-LK chambered in .50) fighting the quadrillion ghouls that were in the Sentinel Site. Glowing Sea (and radiation in general) is just obscenely dangerous still and I'm not ready to fully clear it. I'm going to come back with a full suit of X-01 and like a loving gatling laser or something.

My character is a luck/AP-based automatic weapon specialist. No suppressors, as there's little point in sneak attacks. Each point of luck gives me a flat percent chance to score a crit inside and outside of VATS, each round in an automatic barrage can crit individually (each pellet with shotguns too), and the penalty for automatic receivers is 5% instead of the 35-50% from vanilla. So with the ~22 luck I have right now it's pretty cool. I also can't bank additional criticals like in vanilla, so firefights are a strategic mix of non-VATS shooting, targeted limb shooting (dismembering is insanely important with Super Mutants but also helpful for Raiders and Synths) and then popping my single banked crit on something scary. I'm almost 60 and I die pretty frequently, but it's very rarely frustrating.

This isn't the Sentinel Site, this is from Mass Turnpike West which I stumbled into a few hours ago. There were...a few ghouls there.

Vasudus

I mean there's not too much of a deviation from a lot of vanilla mechanics, most of the changes are largely in combat, logistics, and followers.

The big combat thing is there's no more health scaling. I have 180 health, 100 base + 4x20 from my END. I've had that since level 1. Enemies don't scale their health by level, they have a base amount of HP like you do, the only difference is species. So poo poo like humans/ghouls/synths are 100 + END(20), Super Mutants are 250 + END(20), etc. This keeps the overall health quite manageable and removes unintentional bullet sponges, which was a huge problem in vanilla. It also means poo poo like Super Mutants are insanely dangerous all the time. The big scaling thing that they do is in equipment, since they always level with you. So you get raiders kitted out in full suits of heavy raider armor that's reinforced at my level, scaled further by enemy type, rather than "this one guy has gently caress-you levels of health, and it's not the Raider Overlord but actually just the guy named Raider". It also ends up making things like Radscorpions and Deathclaws absolute nightmare machines, as you would expect.

Power Armor is obscenely rare and completely hand-placed. In Concord you get the frame and a seriously hosed up T-45 chest, that's it. I'm level 60 and I have two additional frames. Getting T-60 requires being really far down the BOS quests (you get a T-45 suit for your welcome to the brotherhood reward, the T-60 is Sentinel rank I think?) and there's exactly one set of X-01 that is scattered all over the place. On the plus side, all PA has roughly 50% more protection and double the health, but takes ten times the materials to repair/upgrade and requires heavy investment in Armorer/Science to fix. Enemies in PA are really rare, but incredibly dangerous because they basically laugh at your weapons fire and so far my only enemy PA kills have been alpha strikes against their fusion cores.

There's more enemies in a pack, and they have different group AI that makes them pretty different. They're on the whole much more aggressive and set up things like covering fire much more intelligently. Because of how health/damage/armor scaling has changed, you do not want to get caught being flanked. Things like grenades are game changers, and spotting an enemy with a rocket launcher is basically 'stop whatever the gently caress you're doing and kill this person immediately'. Because locational damage is a big thing now, in many cases blowing arms and legs off is the best course of action. Super Mutants and Synths in particular are important to disable like this in any sort of group combat, there's not enough exposure time to safely 100% kill something in many cases; so disabling and moving to another target is smart. Synths in particular are bastards, as blowing off an arm when they have a pistol just makes them pick it back up with the other arm, and they can lose their head and still fight. Blowing off a Super Mutant's arm usually works, unless they have a sledgehammer which they can still use one handed.

Logistics wise, the big thing is that loot in general is extremely scarce. You really have to go digging around to find things, and you find maybe 10% of what you used to in vanilla. You no longer can harvest settlement crops yourself, or get excess purified water thrown into your stash. I've made scavenging runs to several of the breweries/bars to get bottles to keep my water supply good. Selling to the NPC vendors without significant charisma/bartering investment is a waste of time, so I've been doing everything myself. I make my own ammo and gear, and because I'm using automatic weapons I'm scouring the wasteland for goddamn fertilizer, copper, and lead like a crack fiend.

Followers can be set with a long/medium/short range weapon, are more aggressive, have revamped perks, and get bonuses based on their character theme. I'm using Cait with a shotgun for long/medium and Grognak's Axe for up close and personal situations, since most of my combat is medium range on this character.

There's a few more major things but that's all I feel like typing out right now on my phone.

I didn’t notice any of these problems in my last essentially vanilla play through. I think you’re a gaming masochist.

Hi there, would you like to try some spicy products?

Opened Steam and saw Battletech was 30% off, so I figured I'd pull the trigger, but then I saw Chrono Trigger also exists on Steam and is on sale, so I got excited. Turns out I confused the game with another one of my childhood favorites, Illusion of Time (Illusion of Gaia in America, I guess), but Chrono Trigger is apparently listed as one of the greatest video games of all time, and since it looks exactly like the stuff I loved to play as a kid, I might grab that, too.

Dunno if it's a 3d remake or what, but I'd suggest getting a 2d pixel version of chrono trigger. That's what's rated so highly, not necessarily whatever is on steam.

Edit: steam version looks legit so grab it

Hi there, would you like to try some spicy products?

First impression of the game put me off a whole drat lot, but I'm thinking it must have something to do with playing it on a 4K display. Might fire it up again later in windowed mode. But after a couple of minutes where I really thought I just couldn't get into it, it scratched that same itch I had as a kid when I first played Secret of Mana, and I think it might draw me in.

The controls with keyboard and mouse, however, are a real shitshow, and I'm thinking I might finally go buy a controller for games like these and the other retro games I have. I feel like I'm having a déja vu by asking, but does anyone have any recommendations for PC-based USB controllers? Back when it was released, I was intrigued by the Steam controller, but I recall hearing some fairly bad experiences with it, possibly in here even?

Googled around a bit, and a controller seems to be a bigger investment than I thought. I figured they'd be around the range of your average mouse, but the PS4 Dual Shock is 60 Euros by itself and requires either some proprietary USB adapter, or "unofficial" windows software, which kinda bugs me.

lol @ Razer gear, because I worked for Razer before and I pretty much guessed accurately what those were gonna cost before even looking them up on Amazon

Steam controller is decent but the problem is that it emulate a KB+Mouse so some games (mostly console ports) think it's a KB+Mouse. I use the PS4 controller with the software and a bluetooth antenna and have no complaints.
