i cant imagine the kind of stockholm syndrome youd have to have to accept this as a customer i mean even if you refuse to admit there are any other options and think of windows as your only choice this is obviously so much worse than windows 7 free is way too much to charge for it

i accidentally found a good thing that win 10 does well, and i am sorry for it in my bid to also be disappointed by cortana i pulled out the harddrive i installed it on in my desktop and stuck it into an old thinkpad and all of the oddball devices within were recognized without intervention, fuss or reboot, exactly the way you'd hope complete hardware changes would be handled in 2015 and i too now get to learn it is mmxiv

lol so i downloaded the iso (at a paltry 2 MBps what the heck ms) to install this piece of poo poo and it wanted me to sign in with a microsoft account the only way to not do this is to click "create a new account" and then scroll all the way to the bottom where there is a barely visible "sign in without a microsoft account" so i do this, it does its dumb color changing setup thing, and then the first thing i see on the desktop is a notification saying "Is there a reason you didn't use a Microsoft Account?"

cortana is completely broken but they've coded in a dozen unique error messages because that was less work than ensuring the command 'open skype' or 'launch skype' or 'start skype' opened the pre-installed skype app rather than binging for the word skype i've tried lobbing every softball question and command i can think of, to the point of embarrassment, and the only thing that works as expected is asking what year it is, to get the wrong answer edit: no wait! 'open my documents' registered a hit! we are living in the future, bring on the holograms!

it successfully bings for 'sleep', 'shutdown' and 'restart' 'hibernate' makes it say 'hi' back to me 'hibernate' again makes it say 'hey' because we are casual friends now

lol the start menu really is just a massive waste of space after you unpin everything how did they gently caress it up this badly that at least resized in the last build. did they really think this was better? this entire thing is just completely baffling also these folder icons are burning my eyes
