Semantically, "you" is both singular and plural, though syntactically it is always plural. It always takes a verb form that originally marked the word as plural.

Also, there is no plural when the context is an argument with an individual rather than a group. Somfin shouldn't put words in my mouth.

Speaking of Town Hall.

We had/attempted to have our quarterly IT town hall today, approx 1300 people. I don't know if it was our infrastructure or Town Hall in general but it choked so hard on it most people left the meeting because the audio/video was either constantly buffering/out of sync/or just frozen completely.

It was glorious lol

My experience with recruiters when trying to break back into IT space this year is that they only care at all about you if you already have the work experience that would let you land a job entirely without their help.

And all the recruiting companies I've seen have awful reviews by both recruited people and the companies that use them for staffing.

I get two days and it’s the first time I’ve ever gotten wfh so I was happy with it.

Now I’ve gotten used to this though so I’m probably going to leave once I have enough experience for a place which isn’t half an hour away

Off the top of my head, NiSource (just outside the F500), parts of Honda America, and a really recognizable clothing retailer are still using Lotus Notes. Discover Financial was still using it in 2016. IBM is a loving cockroach

Edit: to be clear it isn’t all email necessarily I can’t remember who did what with it except Discover was all in.

A group I worked with was using this for a position they were hiring for. It seemed like it cost them way more time than just not doing it. They had like the entire team review all the video applications, and they had way more videos to review than you would have people do interviews, so it was just a huge time sink for that group.

Lol of course it is. It's not a dystopia unless both sides get negatively impacted by that kind of garbage.

It really doesn't make sense to do it unless you're also combining it with the normal screening and you just only look at the videos of those who pass that screen that you might want to interview anyway. Idk. It's loving dumb.

One whistleblower talking about filters to automatically trash non-white apps based on the vid screen would be something to see for sure.

Glad someone has gotten good jobs with them but it's like an extra layer of selling yourself when an interview is usually always soul crushing in that respect anyway. (I lucked out with my current job in that I only BS'd maybe 10-15 percent of the interview instead of the 50-70% that is typical)
