The entire premise of financialized neoliberal power was to externalize all the costs of the industrial economy and internalize all the profits, but if you turn that crank for thirty years you end up with a rich center with absolutely no productive capacity, with a politics totally dominated by the economic equivalent of a few hundred Smaugs, dragons that do nothing but sit atop a pile of theoretical finance capital gold but no productive capital at all. And they won't let anything change until their power is actually destroyed, the destruction of which destroys the state's remaining power tools (the dollar itself and the financial infrastructure that uses it) as well. Feels pretty locked in at this point.

one time at a casino after a concert (waiting for uber prices to die down) the slot machine ate my 20 and they gave me a new 20 and me and two of my friends all got super mega jackpots at the same time on three different machines kinda cool there's a "oops so sorry don't leave" button we cashed out immediately lol

Went out to grab some pho with the mrs today and lol, two bowls of pho, an order of fresh spring rolls as an app, + tax/tip came out to a bit over 50. About a full workday of fed min wages pre-tax. I remember when this place had bowls for like 6.95 lol
