There's also a credible theory out there that May was having a bit of a grace period in the polls and once she actually started pounding pavement people saw through her. After all when she won the leadership contest, I at least was a little bit surprised since she came out of left field, and she clearly wasn't a very good campaigner. Her winning the leadership had nothing to do with how good a politician she is in the public eye.

Most of the undeclared seats are safe Tory ones, so it looks like the exit poll will be almost completely bang on. It will most likely be a Tory minority government, with DUP propping up, that will crash and burn within a year.
