I tried to find Poison Iveys old YouTube channel, but looks like it's gone. May be trying to scrub off his gaming past a bit. I'll delete his name from my comment as well, if that's even the right name. He can fade into anonymity again, figure the guys earned that for all the fun. As silly as they were I love them all. The T6 ship market at Exchange is crashing, at least Kelvin is. Today I saw several for sale for less than 335 000 000 EC and one Walker-class that sold for 325 000 000 EC.

Fortunately my used ships sales yard has something more esoteric so I'm still in the black. And obviously can sit on them for a while. There are tens of low-bid Kelvins right now so those are tanked at least until January, luckily I sold my only one few weeks ago.

I also so NX refit for less than 360M for the first time since I started doing business.

Yes, I know I'm old, get off my fucking lawn so I can yell at these clouds.

Meanwhile I doubt anything has been done about the 3 foot tall anime girl styled character I saw in Drozana a year or two back with a character bio that basically said "her race suffered a genetic catastrophe that killed all the adults and gave everyone else immortality but stopped them physically aging just before their race's puberty."

It was literally "this is a 500 year old woman in a 12 year old's body" with a side of "oh and her species likes to gently caress Like, a lot."

Wonder if I still have the screen caps. . .

Physically a child, specifically a barely pubescent child? Check

Technically an adult so you can get offended when I call you a sick pedo gently caress? Check

Retain their child-like outlook so that even though it's technically a 250 year old demon alien trapped in a barely pubescent body it still has the mental outlook and mannerisms of the 13 year old that you really want to bone? Check

Very low fertility part of the backstory, so presumably their species has to gently caress a whole lot? Check.

SAD is only worth it if you're planning a carrier build, and even then only worth it with a handful of pets. If you're looking at a promo/lockbox ship merely for the trait, I'd look at a few others first. Disco D7 (Ruin of our Enemies), Crossfield Refit (Universal Designs) if you have a console that will proc it enough, or the Mirror Warship (Terran Goodbye).

Cryptic will generally take action against gross kiddie stuff but only if you report it. The kind of action they take is random and often meaningless; for example, they’ve badnamed Child Gornography every time I’ve changed it back for more than a week, but they’ve done nothing about the character’s appearance; meanwhile, on my main, they once deleted over 40 outfits because I had one where he looked like a gorn with khan hair, nausicaan armor, and borg bits on a fed.

Something like half of my ships are badnamed at any given time. This is understandable, because almost all of them have intentionally offensive names. What’s curious is what does get badnamed and what does not. Various infamous massacres and war criminals that aren’t taught in U.S. public schools? Perfectly fine! Names that utilize the character creation system’s looser limits on ship name lengths to achieve “I.K.S. All Bronies Are Child Molesters And Must Be Hanged” or “Hang All Bajorans”? Stop right there! “Dukat was right about Bajorans” is still good though, so…?

Meanwhile I mess around in the tailor since I haven't in ages, remembered the terran emperor uniform from the last episode, and decided to throw it on my Reman. Except it seemed rather sparse, just the top and pants and shoulder pad thing, so I went to check the wiki and it turns out they basically forgot to enable all the other parts on anyone who wasn't a Main Character Race. :waycool:

I mean I'm not really surprised seeing how they consistently do this with literally every costume they release but it would be nice if they took the extra half hour to make sure all the parts and the right palette are toggled on before releasing them. They don't even need to enable it for all the weird BOFF races, just the player ones. It can't be that hard. Just loving do it Cryptic. Or at least sell a race change token thing so I can actually use half these cosmetics I've gotten over the years on my main.

Also it works on Tovan Khev of all loving things but not my player character lol

For Universal Designs, I thought it was based on the number of consoles activated that's why you combo it with that personal trait (unconventional systems?) which reduced console cooldown for big uptime/damage.

I can't decide what to get with my annual event reward either. I got lobi last year and I still have like 1200 lobi left.

Yes, but there are a handful of consoles that can get you full stacks quickly and keep them. The most common is the immolating phaser lance from the Deimos which would probably be a meta console by itself. It starts with 6 charges, and using each charge counts as a console activation for Universal Designs. You can also use the Paahvo crystal console (event reward summer 2021, or sometimes Mudd's Market).

Inquiry class if you don’t have one, Deimos for the immolating phaser lance. Verne class if you want to do a high end sci build at some point.

Vaadwaur Juggernaut if you want the ultimate CSV ship, Dhailkhina if you want a versatile, high-DPS canon romulan ship.

Note that the Mirror Engle, Disco D7, Crossfield Refit, MIrror Warship, and Deimos are largely ships people get for the trait/console. You can fly them, you can do high-DPS fun builds on them, but people are usually grabbing them just to strip them for parts. Those parts will generally be useful on just about any ship you fly.

For actual flying, the Inquiry and Dhailkhina are all-around high-DPS ships. The Vaadwaur Juggernaut is the best CSV ship in the game if you can get used to the turning rate. The Verne (and it's KDF and Rom clones) is the best ship in the game for a pure science build. The Courage is the best pure kinetic torp build ship, but it's incredibly ugly and a high end kinetic torp build requires a bunch of traits from other ships you don't have. Best BO ship is probably either the regular D7 or Husnock if you also have the Miradorn for the 2pc console set. I believe the legendary D7 is the best SS ship, but that's not a choice from the event.

Looks like it might be a new top-tier beamboat, but I'll let the math nerds figure out where it falls. Console may be must-slot, and the trait doesn't look immediately terrible.

Funny that the trait and console seem focused on FAW/BO stuff, but it's an intel seated ship. Looks overall solid, but I don't know if 4/4 with a heavy cruiser mastery package will be topping any charts. Certainly looks very solid though for a heavy cruiser.

The console looks great and the trait looks good, but the ship itself isn't a MW which I'm pretty sure is going to put it behind the curve compared to MW beamboats.

Yea, I don't think it'll be #1 Beamboat, but the console & trait could become staples and the ship itself looks competent/solid.

And I think it looks pretty good from the pictures. We'll need to see it in the different vanity shields for final evaluation.

Sooo I gave in and spent the :20bux: to grab the mudd pilot bundle thing because lol at waiting for the dilex to help me finish it off. I know pilot skills are in desperate need of rework but the pilot dodges are still fun as hell, and I remain tempted to grab the Mars next year for the permanent Lock Trajectory use. But other random observations in no real order...
  • I tried really hard to justify getting the La Sirena over the undine destroyer since it's a promo ship, but... wow it really has nothing exciting going for it at all, does it? I mean it's difficult to make pure Raiders distinct in general due to the universal seating but they just didn't even really try there did they? Even the console, trait, and weapon are pretty forgettable. Not that the Cheirax is all that exciting either these days but it at least looks a lot cooler and is a canon ship from a far, far better show. And yes I know it's from Voyager.
  • I forgot that the Kwejian boat was a frigate rather than an escort/raider so that was a pleasant surprise. Granted it'll be a lot better if they ever make pilot skills less lovely so the ensign engineering slot can have something useful in it but oh well.
  • The Kwejian frigate is such a ludicrously impractical design because Disco is written by idiots but I'll give Cryptic credit for rendering it obscenely well in game. If only more pilot ships had unique animations for their dashes like the Kwejian and D4x do but I understand why not. It is however so goddamn tiny that it's easy to get disoriented while flying in in kind of the same way the vulcan scout ship has but that's not a dealbreaker. I do need to put it next to the tholian widow and vulcan scout ship to see which is the tiniest non-shuttle playable starship, I think the frigate might win there.
  • How is the Deimos not a promo ship again? Certainly fits it better than the La Sirena, but whatever. Seating's decent, mobility is raider-level, it looks rather nice especially for something coming from the Picard trash fire, the console is absurd but everyone knew that already, and the trait- ... uh, exists? I guess. Even the experimental weapon feels a lot stronger than the numbers suggest for some reason. My only real complaint is that the giant federation decal on the wing makes it a bit harder to play dress up with, it could otherwise be a pretty decent "generic enemy of the week ship" sort of thing in some of the vanity shields.
