Wait wait wait . . . are you saying that CBS conned people into a monthly subscriptions service that let's be honest is almost entirely for Star Trek and then . . . they're taking a month off? I'd be more angry if I wasn't in awe.

The funny thing is that the season run probably ends like the week before Big Brother starts up which is the other "draw" to subscribe to the service. And actually they announced a Celebrity Big Brother for this winter exclusive to the app so I bet that airs during the break between Star Trek episodes. CBS All Access is driven entirely on one niche nerd audience at a time. Its kind of amazing.

CBS All Access is nothing more than a negotiation tool to increase carriage fees with cable companies. They don't really care about it beyond that.

The CBS All Access concerns me because I don't really want 50 subscription services popping up with 1-2 exclusive shows they try to get by with. That's kind of been the problem with cable TV.

Everything I've heard about All Access is such a clown show that I'm willing to wait for Discovery to eventually show up on Hulu or whatever.

One thing I do like about CBC All Access is the no commercial tier. What I would of given for AMC to have a no commercial tier back when they had good shows.

What I'm saying is I'm waiting for it to fail. Could be years but I don't see these guys surviving the first market contraction.

I've never actually had any problems with All Access and I use it a lot with Big Brother (I hate myself). It's cheap, I don't recall having much trouble, and there's the no commercial option. I also watched some sports on the live feed with no problem. It's just bare bones for content if you're not super into Big Brother, Survivor, Amazing Race, soap operas, and now Star Trek. Like they don't even have libraries of their current running hit shows like Big Bang Theory. It's basically nothing but those small fanbase shows who are willing to drop a little extra for their fix. It's got no broader appeal to it all. So if you want to watch Star Trek dropping $6 to binge it seems like a fine deal. But I'd be shocked if you'd have any reason to pay again next month.

Because different countries have different rights. All Access is a US only service. e: also I think Canada is the only country where it airs on TV, which tickles me. but you do have to pay extra for Space channel. esperterra fucked around with this message at 02:21 on Oct 17, 2017 |

If The Good Fight is anything to go by, it will be available for purchase on all the digital outlets a few months after the final episode airs. In the US, the only subscription service that will continue to carry it is All-Access.

Yeah, you'll definitely be able to pick it up on iTunes/Google/etc, but at that point it's probably cheaper to sub to All Access for a month and watch it that way.

Cheaper yes, but the quality is much lower. It's a shame that it's streaming in HDR on Netflix in other countries and we are stuck with a lovely lower bitrate SDR stream with 2 channel audio.

STD is shockingly good. Once you get past the 2 part pilot the show improves tremendously. So I guess Bryan FUller was the bad part in this case. The Orville might be amazing but Seth is unwatchable for me so I will never find out beyond the first half of the second episode.

She was fine in those horror movies fwiw, and was an A+ Daphne in Scooby Doo. I feel like SMG could have done more if she wanted do, but iirc she was pretty focused on just being a mom for a while.

idk Sarah Michelle Gellar has been happily married for over a decade and seems pretty happy with having a family, and acting in mostly smaller poo poo and doing VA roles. Like it doesn't need to be some pervy Hollywood conspiracy every time an actress isn't super successful. I don't know if you guys are being serious or joking, but either way it's in bad taste imo, especially because it's so topical right now.
