There's a shitload of bands that play like that thanks to the thrash revival Misogynist mentioned. Search "new wave of thrash metal" on spotify and there's quite a few playlists on there that people have made with a wide variety of modern bands. Take some time and hear what you like.

The reason I'm not really into most modern thrash bands is that they're B-rate Exodus or Dark Angel clones, they're single-mindedly thrashing 100% of the time and aren't the most captivating at doing just that. There are some interesting newer bands though, once you get through all the pizza thrash and other crap. Give a listen through the catalogs of some record labels such as Unspeakable Axe (thrash/death), Heavy Artillery(thrash/heavy), and Stormspell (heavy/power/speed/thrash). With that said, here's some stuff you might like: http://unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com/album/feed-the-ego Algebra mixes some aggressive thrash metal with melodic heavy metal stuff similar to Metallica - here's a softer song from their album below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REDHDsYRzFM https://infiltrator.bandcamp.com/ Infiltrator is killer a speed/thrash band. There's some killer dual leads and aggressive stuff sorta like like Destruction and Sodom circa 84-85, and a Bathory cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9y4eMq-piXw Since everyone loves Vektor, give this Vektor clone a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW9XnnSZLLQ https://birthad.bandcamp.com/ Birth AD is my favorite recent thrash band, basically crossover with Slayer riffs and great lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETjTks4xSkw

I liked Birth AD's demo/EP so much better than the LP. It has most of the best songs and the production was way heavier. Either way, they are absolutely ace, helmed by Jeff Tandy of Averse Sefira in case anyone didn't know.

My main homeslice the notorious D. Dawks-dizzle lays some sick track, check it. http://metalhammer.teamrock.com/news/2015-03-13/nightwish-stream-shuddering-track At least they've got a good voice this time and it's not about crazy carnivals or Disney cartoons but still ehhh. They used to (like 10 years ago) have good transitions between the riffs and strings. Now it's like they can't decide which phase of Nightwish they want to sound like. And they crank up the guitar til it's overpowering everything when it's playing. In my world they released Once and Marco just did Tarot from then on.
