What's the recommendation for playing the hardest 2v5 humans v bots game possible? Like are there settings to make them actually difficult? Interested in some practice when my internet is poo poo which isn't the usual aim and prefire maps.

Probably obvious question: There's no way that one of these types of devices would be compatible with CS for spectator purposes, right? It's essentially a 3 dimensional mouse/trackpad/nub for smoother camera manipulation in three dimensions.

^^^ I don't see why you wouldn't be able to map whatever values that thing produces to something usable in the game. The engine even has gamepad support to an extent. You'd likely have to use some sort of middleware to remap whatever. Do you have a link to what it actually is? Specs: Win 10 64Bit Intel i7 4770k 3.50 GHz 8 GB DDR3 GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 650W PSU Windows DVR & Shadowplay are both off. I don't have this issue in any other games, BF1 runs like a dream and so does any other AAA game (or not) that I throw at it. Don't get me wrong, I can definitely live with the stats I'm getting, it's just that in the last year I've dropped from getting a solid 250-300 FPS to what I'm at now, and it's pretty stupid.

I think his point was that RAM is cheap as gently caress, so why not have 16GB minimum in there? RAM is not going to make or break your performance (most likely) but it depends what you're doing, 8GB SHOULD be enough. Do you leave your browser open with like 10 tabs? Do you have a bunch of other garbage running? That's going to chew through a lot of RAM and cause issues if you're playing a game. Your videocard is essentially highly specialized RAM that crunches numbers to turn into video, whereas normal RAM just does everything. The reason his point is valid is that almost every demanding game released is cross platform, and primarily aimed at a console market first. And game devs have something like 4-5GB of RAM to work with for modern PS4/Xbone titles iirc. Even removing console restrictions, you don't need quadruple that to run a game smoothly. You won't start 'needing' 16gb of RAM for a year or two yet, but it's nice if you do a lot of stuff at once. Which plenty of us do.

Unless you are running 4x2GB sticks to take full advantage of dual channel memory, and you are using the fastest memory that your motherboard/processor supports, you are leaving a bit on the table. For Sandy/Ivy Bridge processors, anything faster than DDR3-1600 won't be of much benefit. With Haswell (like your 4770k), the sweet spot is supposedly DDR3-1866, which has tighter timings than 2200 or otherwise. In either case, it's easy to find benchmarks that show swapping from 2x4GB DDR3-1333 up to 4x4GB DDR3-1866/2200+ is good for at least a 2-3% decrease in frame time. (Which with some lazy math would put you around 260fps) The benefit is far more pronounced on the latest chipsets, with DDR4-3200 being the current max afaik. I wouldn't say it's "make or break", but these little things, especially those that improve your frame time/minimum fps, end up being the difference between an occasional hiccup and consistent/reliable performance. Now that we actually have displays with <5ms latency and 1ms response times, there's actually a perceptible benefit to absurdly low frame times outside of higher numbers in a benchmark. People are even overclocking the polling rates on their mice to 2000+mhz, for <1ms response times. Blurbusters has a pretty informative writeup on all of it if you're interested All of this said, it's entirely more likely that you're just a filthy goon (or a normal human that accrues dust). Before you get drunk tonight, take most of your tower apart, unplug/reseat your gpu/ram, clean your fan filters and blow everything else out with canned air. Shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes. I'm not specifically accusing you of not cleaning, it's just that average framerates have actually gone up for most people over 2016 (a combination of csgo and driver improvements), and this is the only other realistic thing I could imagine that would actually be causing these issues.
